Not many people outside the Ottawa valley of Eastern canada are familiar with the haunting that takes place on an old farm road called Buck Hill Road. What is seen on this lonely road about 30 km off the transcanada highway west of Ottawa are ghost lights (or spook lights) as well as the rare figure of a large man that has been known to walk by your parked car and then disappear. The spook lights are seen almost nightly anytime after dark but more often closer to midnight and the wee hours of the morning.

On Saturday night, November 17th, 2012 a friend and I decided to visit Buck Hill. It was below zero and we arrived at this very remote location at about 9pm. Within 20 minutes Will spotted an orange light that rose out of the ground, moved back and forth and then dropped back into the ground. This occured about 50 to 75 yards in front of us while we were sitting inside my car and happened twice within 5 minutes.

This was what we had expected to see more or less but what happened about an hour after that sent chills down our spine and caused us to exit the area. At about 10pm we were sitting in the car (it was pretty cold outside) and suddenly we heard something hit the back of the car - it was a thump. The car didn't move but it sounded like something either fell on the car or ran into the car from behind us. We both got out to inspect and expected to see a branch on the ground as we were parked close to a stand of trees (this area is in the middle of the woods)but saw nothing. What we did notice was a small handprint on the back window that looked like the hand had slid down the glass just a little. Whats odd about this print is that 1. the road was very dusty driving up there and the window was completely covered in a thin layer of dirt; this hand print was fresh as there was no dust covering it. 2. the print had only 4 fingers with the little finger not making an impression. There was one other vehicle parked about 100 yards in front of us - they showed up shortly after the orange light encounter - and we checked with them to see if they might have been hoaxing us or one of them had walked back there. All occupants were in the car and no one had moved since they arrived there. On top of that no children were with them. Both Will and I took pictures of the hand print which hopefully I can post on here shortly.

After this encounter we decided to head back to Ottawa and along the way we tried to rationalize what had occured andthe hand print but we couldn't.

Go to the science fiction section of any bookstore and look at any cover. So the guy can draw.

Could be a bug, a bird, something on the lense. No big deal - sorry Maine family, just not enough resolution to make any conclusions.

wow Michael you've got quite the thread going. So what's the consensus from this group of ragtag contributors, can you put together a crack team of alien hunters? Hell, I'm in.

I know that much of the area around Dulce, NM is native land and there is the usual military base somewhere in the area. The Uintah Basin, which is due east of Salt Lake City is a combination of private land - farming mainly - as well as a huge military base in the midst of all the fun. The Skinwalker ranch seems to be the hub for all things paranormal including a boat load of ufo sightings. The land is owned by Robert Bigelow of Bigelow Aerospace Industries who just happens to have a fascination with ufos and all things weird and funky. Consequently the ranch is well guarded and pretty much off limits but there is an intrepid researcher I've heard on a couple of talk shows who spends all his time roaming the area, camping out on homesteads (with the owner's permission), and generally watching the ground and sky; he's had numerous encounters with alien creatures and bizarre animals that have no business being in our rhealm. Check out the coasttocoastam interview with George Knapp who researched the heck out of the skinwalker ranch if you want to get right to the meat of this place (I believe it's on youtube). My future plans definitely hold a trip to this corner of Utah. I'm already on "their" radar so I'm sure they'll welcome me with open arms..ha!

Whatever you do Mike try to get it on film especially the trip to the taxidermist; and if you ever take the hide on the road I'll pay my 2 bits to see THAT highdiving act. Persoanlly I like the idea of putting together a hardcore hunting team and storming one of those "secret" underground bases. By the way, your best bet for encountering something is either Dulce or the Uintah basin of Utah (if you havent checked out the book Hunt for the Skinwalker read it asap). One more tip: aliens have this thing for telepathy and affecting the levels of neurotransmitters in the brain - inducing panic, dread, sleep, etc. In other words, stay upwind and try not to think while you're popping in that magazine.
