The Law of Attraction Levinus posted:11/5/2011 9:01:49 PM I can't think of many more contemporary or paranormal things than this. I'm sure most people know of The Secret by Rhonda Byrne. The concept of the book states that our realities are shaped by the predominant thoughts and emotions we host. Basically, an optimistic and grateful person has a life to reflect that. A miserable wretch has a life to reflect...you get the picture. The thing is, the website www.thesecret.tv has thousands of anecdotal accounts. From a statistical point of view, it seems to have a very practical application. But what is the mechanism of action? The book is very specific about not thinking about this. It is irrelevant, according to the book and practitioners. The only relevant thing is the results. Well, thats not good enough. My brain can't just accept results. I MUST KNOW. I know a great deal about physics and the quantum world. I have my own theories. But what about everyone else? Do you think it is possible? Is this paranormal? Divine influence? Astral guides? Alien? Or, does anyone have any experience trying it out? Did it work for you? Complete bollucks? Then of course, if it IS possible, what are the limits? Can I, for example, wish myself to become omnipotent? Can I wish myself to be the master of all things? Infinitely wise?Four posted:11/6/2011 3:32:03 AM Its just will power. Most of that book was pure bs, and boils down to pure will power bottom lineLevinus posted:11/6/2011 10:02:29 PM I really have a whole lot of will to be a god. I just don't have a way.If it is just a question of will power, how does it seem to apply to things that are statistical probability? For example...parking spaces? Or good clients? We can't just WILL those things. They are attracted. At least, that is the book's theory.Four posted:11/7/2011 1:54:52 AM Our will shape our realality but you have to accept that some thing will be beyond our control due to others will.having read the book i can say that is mostly crap in my opinionorions daughter posted:11/8/2011 5:27:07 AM Esther and Jerry Hicks also wrote a book "Ask and it is given" it was my bible and covers a lot of stuff "The Secret" didnt, there is abundance on earth, enough for everyone, its just a question of asking, "ask and you shall recieve", if its for your higher good you will get you needs, but be really careful and specific about what you are asking for, for instance you can ask for a yellow Ferrari, but if something is really wrong with it, it could cost you a fortune getting it fixed, the mere fact you didnt ask for a Ferrari that worked has nothing to do with it, bear that in mind and the sky is the limit.pollyanndrea posted:11/8/2011 7:30:53 AM " A stich in time saves 9 ", is the clearest way I can state it without getting to abstract.Omen502 posted:11/9/2011 1:26:10 PM I always say... Though by some accounts, if enough people believe you're a god strongly enough, you might be able to act as one, at least for them.... Please log in or become a member to add a post.
