Dead Toddler Reanimates at Own Wake to Ask for Some Water, Then Re-Dies
Neetzan Zimmerman

Brazilian media agencies are reporting on a bizarre story out of the northern city of Belém, where a toddler pronounced dead suddenly reanimated shortly before his funeral, and asked his father for a drink of water.

Two-year-old Kelvin Santos was declared officially dead after succumbing to pneumonia at Aberlardo Santos Hospital. The family held an open-casket wake later that same day, inviting relatives to pay their respects.

Then, just one hour before the funeral, the boy unexpectedly sat up and asked his father if he could have "some water."

"Everybody started to scream," said Antonio Santos, the boy's father. "We couldn't believe our eyes. Then we thought a miracle had taken place and our boy had come back to life."

Sadly, unlike similar stories in the recent past, the child soon returned to his previous state.

"Then Kelvin just laid back down, the way he was," Mr. Santos continued. "We couldn't wake him. He was dead again."

Kelvin's family took his body to the hospital in search of answers, but doctors had none. All they could do was scratch their heads and declare him dead once again. The funeral was delayed in hopes that Kelvin would return to life as before, but this time he was truly gone.

"Dead people don't just wake up and talk," Mr. Santos said. "I'm determined to find out the truth."

An official police investigation has been launched.

That is a very sad story. Can you imagine the parents joy, only to be shattered once again.
The poor kid was obviously declared dead in error, then his short life really ended.
It puts the whole Brazilian medical system into question!

I've read of this kinda stuff before. Maybe it could have some kind of poison. Like the ones they have know Africa that slows your heartbeat so much you appear dead?

I read the story also , very sad for the family , one would have to wonder how many times this actually occurs , have people been literally buried alive , the mere thought of it makes me shudder but it is a possibility but of course we will never really know because that is one scenario that cannot be relayed .... Very sad story ....

Thousands if not millions of people have been buried/burned alive in the mistaken belief of their demise.
I personally have a phobia about enclosed spaces.
Could it be a memory of a past life premature burial??

Very possible , have you ever thought about past life regression to unearth (pardon the pun ) the origin of your phobia. There are many people who believe that irrational fear's are from past life memories . So is your phobia Claustrophobia or Taphephobia or both . I hope the phobia is not too debilitating . Mine is water , oddly enough i adore to be beside the sea , i love to walk by the edge of the water but nothing would make me go in further than the edge . Shudder , Shiver .
