I think much of what you call the "jading process" is due to simple loss of curiosity. Do your best to stay curious, and all your other mental faculties will rise to meet the challenge.

I know a woman who's affiliated with a sect (order, coven, church, or some such organization) called the House of Nine. She's extremely tight-lipped about their raison d'etre, but judging from my conversations with her (not to mention certain items I've observed in her home), I'm fairly certain they're Satanists of a decidedly serious ilk.
