Time travel: Fact or fantastical stories of slips in the universe?

Time Slips have been a favorite subject of mine most likely triggered by a television show or film growing up in the 1960. I'll watch anything involving any kind of time travel. Read a few cases today by Jason Offutt in his Cases of Time Slips. Rural New York State I was traveling with a college buddy back in the mid-seventies and we had stopped along a rural stretch of road to take a break from driving.
