On August 6, 1777, the Battle of Oriskany took place, in what is now known as the town of Oriskany. This battle was one of the bloodiest battles in the Revolutionary War, and not only effected the history of the Central New York region, but also shaped our developing nation.

The Battle of Sackets Harbor took place on May 29th, 1813, part of the war of 1812. Many still feel the haunting results of that battle today.
