It was late afternoon on February 10, 2013, as two men stood in a parking area not far from Millsboro in Washington County just along the bank of the Monongahela River. It was still light outside and the weather was mild and dry at the time. As the men continued their conversation, one of them pointed to the river and said “look at that.” It took a moment for the other man to look toward the water and focus on what his friend was seeing.

In 1934, Albert Yashinsky of Shenandoah shot and killed Susan Mummey (‘Old Suss’) of Ferndale seven years after she supposedly hexed him as he worked in a field adjacent to the Mummey farm. Yashinsky is said to have muttered in prison, “Those eyes! Oh, those eyes, oh how I wanted to have them closed! I could not stand them!” This incident was also connected to an appearance of some weird zooform creature, though in this case it is more obvious.

One thing’s for certain: like the toxic sludge left over from mismanaged World War II facilities in Point Pleasant, the Mothman is still out there. Somewhere. I’ve seen it, others have seen it, so it’s really fantastic to find film crews who take the subject much more seriously than you could ever get from a two minute ‘look at these freaks’ clip on the nightly news. Informative in all the right ways--despite some really creepy guests--you’ll appreciate the detail supplied here by the film’s producers.

Something is knocking on my door around 11:30 to about 2AM - maybe once in a week. I’ve had to start keeping the glass door locked because something kept opening it. The night before I started locking it, the door opened, and this huge hand covered my peep hole.
As we stood on a grassy ledge on the temple, there was a loud crashing sound coming from the jungle below us. We could see small trees being push about as this thing moved through the thick vegetation. I looked at the guide and he had a confused and fearful look on his face. He said that we need move in the opposite direction.
I wonder...did Bigfoot ever make itself known during the American Civil War? Well, there may be, at least, one account available
Out of nowhere there was a loud thump on the side of the camper. The thump was very loud and it hit right beside the window on my side of the bed. The camper rocked like it was pushed, it rocked three times and stopped. It scared the hell out of me. No one woke up, and the dog didn't bark.
In August of 1978 a small town in eastern Ohio was thrust into the spotlight when a local family sighted a “monster” in the woods behind their home. Over subsequent evenings they were repeatedly visited by the creature culminating in a late-night encounter that ended in local police being called in. The story blasted onto the front pages of newspapers across the state and into the consciousness of a nation. For weeks police, news crews, and scores of hunters descended on the town of Minerva with one common goal; to find the beast.
Now, nearly 36 years later, the Minerva Monster will be unveiled once again. Featuring in-depth interviews with law enforcement, media personnel and witnesses, Minerva Monster aims to retell the Cayton’s story as it never has been before. Against the backdrop of small-town America a myth will become reality.
It kind of moved across road hunched over. When it got to the brush, it stood up and turned its head. All I could see were it's bright yellow eyes.
An article referencing a 'huge flying reptile carrying a horse in it’s jaws' was carried widely and published in the Salt Lake City County News. It was also reprinted in several newspapers nationwide including the Pittsburgh Press, Pittsburgh, PA on September 3, 1903 (posted below). It gave an eyewitness account of a gigantic, 'prehistoric monster' on Stansbury Island that could have been a pterosaur.
The name, Kongamato, means overwhelmer of boats (possibly breaker of boats). The cryptids have been sighted in Zambia, Kenya and Namibia by both natives, Europeans and Americans, including a well known cryptozoologist.
The legend states that the Devil created the Elizabeth Lake and placed one of his own pets inside it. If you swim deep enough, eventually you will find a secret passage direct to the underworld which isn't entirely far fetched, as the lake lies directly over the San Andres fault line. From this lake a horrible monster came to be.
