It was late afternoon on February 10, 2013, as two men stood in a parking area not far from Millsboro in Washington County just along the bank of the Monongahela River. It was still light outside and the weather was mild and dry at the time. As the men continued their conversation, one of them pointed to the river and said “look at that.” It took a moment for the other man to look toward the water and focus on what his friend was seeing.
The year 2012 was very active with reported sightings of Unidentified Flying Objects and encounters with strange creatures as well as other mysterious events as reported from residents from across the Keystone state. Pennsylvania has a long history of strange occurrences. The year was filled with observations of triangular, disc, and boomerang shaped objects as well as formations of luminous globes.
In 1934, Albert Yashinsky of Shenandoah shot and killed Susan Mummey (‘Old Suss’) of Ferndale seven years after she supposedly hexed him as he worked in a field adjacent to the Mummey farm. Yashinsky is said to have muttered in prison, “Those eyes! Oh, those eyes, oh how I wanted to have them closed! I could not stand them!” This incident was also connected to an appearance of some weird zooform creature, though in this case it is more obvious.
One thing’s for certain: like the toxic sludge left over from mismanaged World War II facilities in Point Pleasant, the Mothman is still out there. Somewhere. I’ve seen it, others have seen it, so it’s really fantastic to find film crews who take the subject much more seriously than you could ever get from a two minute ‘look at these freaks’ clip on the nightly news. Informative in all the right ways--despite some really creepy guests--you’ll appreciate the detail supplied here by the film’s producers.
Sightings of Unidentified Flying Objects were frequently reported by residents of the Keystone State during 2010. Among the other odd events reported were encounters with strange creatures such as Bigfoot and giant birds, unexplained sounds, strange sky flashes and anomalous photographs.
On the evening of August 26, 2010, about 8:10 pm, there was a sighting of a monstrous bird in South Greensburg, PA. Just as it was getting dark, four people were sitting around in the yard having a barbecue and enjoying the beautiful weather when suddenly, their attention was drawn skyward by a sound like a “swish” or a “swoosh” or as one witness stated, “like air coming straight down.”
This incident occurred on September 19, 2009, at about 3:45 pm, on a beautiful, clear and sunny afternoon, in rural Westmoreland County, not far from Youngwood. A woman, her husband and child were in their car driving along the country road that afternoon. Suddenly, the woman seated behind her husband yelled out, “watch out for that snake.”
It appeared to be aprox. 3- 3 1/2 feet in height. As it seemed to be running fast across the lawn, it sounded heavy, like an adult human. It didn’t have fur or feathers. I saw two skinny bone like legs, but didn’t look as though it had feet like a human, similar to that of a bird.
A report of a possible Bigfoot encounter in Pennsylvania was received by the Sasquatch Watch of Virginia and was then referred to Eric Altman, the Director of the (PBS) Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society to investigate. The incident occurred on July 10, 2009, outside of Uniontown, in Fayette County.
Recently, I was contacted about an incident which happened in rural Westmoreland County, outside of Mount Pleasant. There were four people traveling in a car during the evening of June 27, 2009, when they saw something very strange crawling on the road ahead of them. A man yelled out from the back seat and pointed ahead, making the others aware of what was occurring.

The death of zoologist Steve ("The Crocodile Hunter") Irwin in 2006 contributed to the change. Irwin died after a stingray attack in 2006, leaving his daughter Bindi to take over his hosting responsibilities. Around this same time, The Waterhorse--a movie about the Loch Ness Monster--came out in theaters.
The wing tips stirred the dust and gravel on both sides of the roadway as it ran to become airborne. The witness later returned to the site and measured the distance across the road from edge to edge. It was 21 feet. The witness stated that he was in a slight state of shock as he watched the creature fly off.

The witness confesses that when "the animal" was close to him, flying off with a gentle beat of its wings, he was unable to control a bowel movement, a fact that he has tried to keep confidential on account of the customary jokes that tend to emerge in such cases.
It is now approaching 49 years that I have been researching and investigating mysterious encounters in Pennsylvania. While I have an interest in all types of anomalies, I have focused on the UFO phenomena, and sightings of Bigfoot, black panthers, mountain lions, and other mystery animals. Over the years I have had some reports of what were described as huge birds with gigantic wingspans.
Pennsylvania continued to be active with strange incidents during 2007, as residents from 37 counties in the Commonwealth reported mysterious events. Among the oddities reported were UFO sightings, Bigfoot encounters, strange animal sightings, and odd sounds and footprints.
It looked down at us and continued flying. We live in Atascocita, TX. We were in shock as we've never seen anything like it before. We both looked at each other and a couple seconds later asked "what the heck was that?"
As I passed the creature it must have reached out and slammed it's hand on the trunk - we heard a loud thud. I looked back in the rear view mirror and noticed brake lights coming from the eastbound lane. I assume it was crossing the highway to the south side. I knew that it was definitely a Bigfoot - I had no doubt what it was.

This afternoon, there were unconfirmed reports that a Bigfoot was shot and killed at an undisclosed location in Pennsylvania. The incident is being investigated by the Pennsylvania Bigfoot Society. In order to preserve the validity of the evidence and to demonstrate inquiry decorum, the PBS states that further information will be forthcoming only after it is corroborated.
The outline of this thing was pretty big by the glow of the firelight. The palm scrub is about 4'ft tall, higher in some spots. Not taking my eyes off this thing I quietly whispered to my friend to look in that direction and don't scream. She did and she whispered to her husband. He said softly to the group not to make any sudden moves. We were talking softly and alerting everyone in the group about the red eyes, and everyone looked and saw what we were seeing.
On Friday, serial hoaxer Ricky D. made a desperate gesture in order to lessen the building anxiety & suspicion from associates & believers. He hastily created a 'swan song' video stating that he was 'leaving the Bigfoot community' and that his inner circle would be the only individuals privy to future information concerning his operation. Ironically, Ricky D. has never been a part of the so-called Bigfoot community...another one of his delusions of grandeur. Not one single serious Bigfoot researcher has ever declared an association with the delusional Ricky D. or his cast of characters.
Countless reports of sightings have been recorded over the years with one of the most significant pieces of evidence coming to light in 1977 with the Sandra Mansi photograph. Still more evidence is coming to light everyday including this video
The film 'Shooting Bigfoot' premiered on April 30th in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. From the accounts I have heard and read, there was no Bigfoot seen in the film...in fact, there was no Bigfoot shot in the film. There was a human in a costume at some point...but not an actual Bigfoot.
Today, the 'Team Tracker' cabal is in 'damage control'...stating that Ricky D. had no control of the film's content. They continues to maintain that a Bigfoot body will be released on August 15th.

Not long after the episode aired, I started receiving inquiries and reports from the Navajo reservation / Four Corners areas in New Mexico. The following narrative was the most interesting.
In May 2011 I posted The Morbach Werewolf, which included the early history of the beast and a few of the modern anecdotes and statements. I recently received a narrative from a retired USAF Staff Sergeant who was stationed in the area. This narrative includes the actual events in 1988. I investigated and received confirmation on the locales and unit placements communicated to me in the statement and in a subsequent email. What follows is the true story of the Morbach Werewolf:
Dan Shirley, a Bigfoot researcher from California, found two men who had an amazing story to tell. Dan interviewed Jim & Don asking each man to recount their own experiences and stories they heard. The story Don tells in the following video occurred in Placer County, CA...very strange indeed!
The thing was about 7 feet tall and had an enormous build, though not completely covered with hair, the thing had reddish brown hair covering a good portion of its body. It had covered about 30 yards very quickly passing within just yards of my position, when it got hit in the crossfire. The thing stumbled once or twice but never fell. All of a sudden the enemy broke and ran, one even left his weapon behind, they were yelling something, but none of us ever knew what it was they were yelling."
In July 2011 I received an unusual email that, quite frankly, I thought was a prank...that's until I started to check into the claim. From what I can gather there is a bit of local folklore with this story.
