i have experienced this also ,i remember it was usually when i was feeling vunerable i would feel some strange fearfull energy coming into my room, like a fog that slowly made its way to me i would try desperatley to sit up or scream, but nothing came out and i couldnt move a muscle,in my mind i would pray or recite words of power and after what seemed like a life time it slowly drifted back out to the void it came from..i have had feelings off drifting out of my body and being pulled by some unknown entity..very horrid indeed.

How often does it happen, and can you think of anything which takes place before-hand that might trigger it? Dreams, food, thoughts...anything like that?

This dream was a first for me last night: For some reason, me and a woman whose face constantly changed into every woman I had ever met in my life sat down to hold a seance for a TV crew in an octagon wheel next to an octagon house. I was told the octagon had some kind of power. After a few moments of sitting in this wheel, I experienced a possession by what can only be described as a rabid dog. The first statement I made while possessed was, "I need a beer." Afterwards I started barking in a state of frenzy. I began freaking out because I suddenly knew I was dreaming and couldn't get out. I woke up and tried to call to my wife to wake me up, but she didn't hear. Yep, that's right--sleep paralysis struck yet again. These types of incidents always happen between 2 - 3:30 AM.

Hi Jeff, I have had a couple sleep paralysis & out of body experiences in my life. When I was younger, I took them to be paranormal in nature. I have since come to believe that they are naturaly occuring anomilies of my brain functions. Your dream is very interesting to me, as I have also had night terrors for most of my life. Do you ascribe your dreams and sleep paralysis episodes to outside entities or natural, internal causes? I know it really does not matter which as far as how terrifying these experiences are.

I guess it depends on my mood. I have more night terrors than anything and I dream just about every night. One of the recent worst dreams was this one: http://www.paranormalnews.com/article.asp?ArticleID=1166But they are all quite powerful, most of which play on my own insecurities. The story arcs sometimes last for hours. When I tell people in the paranormal community about them, many immediately attribute the dreams to a "negative" entity or a demon, but negativity is just a perspective, and the 'negative entity' thing is too Paranormal State-ish for my taste. Yes, they're frightening, but sometimes maybe we SHOULD be frightened, you know? Tough love, that kind of thing.I would like to think there is a foreign influence in there and often try to find evidence for it, which I suppose is quite dangerous considering I could be urging myself to take on the attributes of a schizophrenic, but the pursuit of mental foreign influence fascinates me. So yes, I believe and seek the possibility that there are foreign influences in my dreams, most notably because many of the characters I run across say things which are completely unpredictable and are not random firings of neurons since they are so purposeful and the stories last so long and they always have their messages. In the channeling article, I talk about how people's minds might be able to receive as well as transmit. The easiest place for that to occur would be when you dream, when you sacrifice your inhibitions and open yourself up to anything and everything much like a meditation, but when you are in such a state, it is difficult to distinguish difference between things unless you do it all the time--it all looks like a yarn ball of thoughts otherwise. You can look at dreams as a child sometimes looks at words in a book he cannot read. Or you can look at dreams through experience and know that there is meaning in there. I don't, however, feel at this time that dream dictionaries have any validity. I've woken up before from night terrors, always around 3:15 AM (Amityville, anyone?) feeling as if someone was sitting on my chest, gripping my soul, and trying to yank it out. It was so painful, all of the salivatory glands in my mouth felt as if they were shooting acid, and I have never heard of that before. I tried screaming for my roommate, but my mouth wouldn't move...everything was mashed potatos. I ended up flipping off my bed somehow and crawling into the bathroom to get away from whatever it was (my own mind?) and I slept on the floor that night in the bathroom, freezing as chills washed over my body for the next two hours. I don't entertain the "demon" game, and I am reluctant to entertain the "UFO Abduction" game as well, but the experience is burned into my brain and is quite possibly one of the most meaningful things that consistently occurs in my life.

Wow! The dream article you linked to was really something. I hardly know what to say. It was hard for me to read some of it. I also have powerful dreams of pain & fear that I struggle to understand/conquer, so we have that in common, 'nuff said. As to the scenario you outline in the channeling article, you know my position on that, so no point in me going into it here. I will say that I pay attention to my dreams and that I do feel like there is a message in them, from a foriegn influence as you put it. I just feel the the foriegn influence is a part of my mind that I can not access consiously for some reason. I do not see it as being from an outside entity, but I do feel I need to pay it heed, all the more because it is actually myself. I agree with you on dream dictionaries. This is minor, but in your dream article, you said that you will sometimes vomit after your terrors. Could that account for the acid sensation in your mouth? Just a thought. Canis

Nah...it wasn't vomit. Where I was raised, there was a term for intentionally squirting spit out of your mouth: gleeking. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gleek_%28Involuntary_spit%29. It was just like this, but it was extremely acidic, burning, and all glands in my mouth seemed to be doing it at once. I've never heard of that experience before and didn't know what to make of it when it happened.

I remember being in the twilite of dozing off and semi consciousness late one night with the TV on while watching in bed late one night. I recall laying on my stomach with my arms folded under the pillow. From here out things get difficult to explain. There was something I can only exlain as an "atmospheric pop". Literally I heard like a muffled pop in my head and could no longer hear the T.V. Suddenly I felt like a prescence was in the room with me and the bed creaked as something that I physically felt, layed on top of me almost restraining me. I physically could feel the mattress sinking in due to its added weight. For the record my eyes were wide open. Its at this point I heard low, deep gargling like breathing and felt its hot sensation against the right side of my neck, shoulder and face. When I tried to push up from the bed I couldnt move whatsoever. I was in absolute terror when I felt 2 claw like hands grip my neck and shoulders from behind...but what really had me in horror was this entity had no legs that i could feel, but more of a long thick almost reptilian tail. I frantically tried over and over to push my arms up from under me and remember "willing" mentally myself to get up several times. Suddenly the pillow flew from underneath me, and my arms were locked and pushing me into a "push-up" like position. I forced myself up with all my strength and said something outloud. I cant honestly remember exactly what it was I said due to this incident being so long ago, but I did call on God, or Jesus to protect me. At that point I again heard the "pop", and could clearly hear the T.V in the background once again. I stayed up until sunrise and read several bible passages and said prayers aloud for those next 4 hours. Believe me people when I tell you, that demons or alien entities do exist.

Yeah, with incidents such as these, there really is no alternatives other to read from the Bible, I suppose. The only scientific response is to medicate or recommend a psychiatrist. I'd be interested in finding out what other cultures do to solve things such as this since the Bible doesn't fit into their belief system.

More sleep paralysis last night. Happened around 5:30 AM when I was just barely dozing. I kept having dreams about being smothered by hundreds of people. My eyes were half open and I saw a shadowy figure sit on top of me and breathe "hello" in my ear over and over again, pinning me in place. I couldn't free myself from my dream for a few minutes. When I finally did, I shot out of bed, threw on my clothes and ran out of the house to go to the office. I couldn't look back at the house as I thought someone would have been staring at me from the window.

i sympathize with you jeff,it really is an unpleasent experince..have you looked up in the dream dictionary what the meaning behind being smuthered by hundreds of people means..could it mean too many people are relying on our life, not giving you enough time to delve within yourself to find the truth of your purpose..some believe we are here to forgive our forefathers of the past, only once that has been done, can we trully find our purpose here..whenever i go to sleep and have dreams of others trying to control my thoughts and decisions i begin forgiving and in the morning i usually feel i bit lighter and a little less reserved towards others..

My best friend is reading a book called "Revealing the Secret Alien Agenda The Threat" by David M. Jacobs who has a list of questions that can tell you whether youve been abducted or not. Included in those questions are if you have night terrors, paranormal or ghostly experiences etc. He believes that ghostly experiences are implanted memories to cover what actually happened. I have never thought Id been abducted but have an open mind to aliens in general. I have unbelievable night terrors but have never considered alien abduction. Does anyone have any opinions on this author or the ghost vision implant theory?
