We are all already a part of the shared consciousness. All experience, thought and deed are gleaned.

And what would you say is the point to forcing ourselves to forget that we are a part of that shared consciousness during our lives as human beings?

to be co-creators we need to be in a state of non total awareness. the purpose being, to have the free will in different circumstances to have new experiences or to make way for another to reach a level, that would otherwise be impossible.

so you're saying that we have to disconnect ourselves from the infinite "everything" in order for there to be a "something" which can be experienced, correct?

are we really seperate from the infinite or is it a temporal illusion. what or if something went wrong at some point,i don't know but, it is the same as to ask if the big bang hurt. but the are some things that are best experienced here. Like, to learn an appreciation for the higher existence.

I tend to think that in order for there to be any substance to infinity, "everything" has to temporarily dissolve itself into finite chunks so infinity can work with it and do something with itself, like a muscle in an 'expanded' or 'contracted' state. To me, infinite/finite variations is the same thing that takes place in the brain which is generally considered to have two sides--one side explains, rationalizes, divides, and breaks things up into temporary finite chunks that don't really exist as separate elements from the all. We FOOL ourselves into thinking that particles are distinct. The other side of the brain imagines, removes rationality, is impulsive, throws ideas and concepts together, and is happier in a connected wave-like state. The two sides interplay with one another to grow. We have thus always existed, but perhaps not so expansive as we are now. We got from there to here by playing this game of temporary forgetfulness and remembrance.

Interesting. Nice analogy. But my bits inform me that this world and the self may have more relevance than given credit for. ;)

What do you mean by relevance? What 'relevance' does the self and this world have? Relevance to what?

My idea is that when fully evolved you merge with the source or creator and add your distinctivness to its wisdom.

My idea is that when fully evolved you merge with the source or creator and add your distinctivness to its wisdom.Fantastic concept. What would make you distinctive if you join the creator, however? Living the tenants of some archetype?
