A week ago last friday my mother and her partner decided to go and checkout the local bric-a-brack and charity shops in Salisbury, a cathedral city north of Dorset in England...After having a few hours shopping it was nearly lunchtime so they were heading back for the car to grab something to eat...It was when they nearly reached the car my mother suddenly realised she wanted an item she spotted earlier on, so they turned on their heels and made the journey back to the store to pick up the said item when they were stopped in their tracks.  The pavement was busy with many people when suddenly my mum and partner were transfixed on this "being" , who was 3-4ft high tanned skin and wrinkly, his arms and legs were spindly, head was small in proportion to humans and wrinkly, although the eyes were inordinatley large in comparison, at first glance it looked like it could have been an electronic mannequin hooked up to one of the shops "it" then turned his head towards my mothers and looked her striaght in the eyes and uttered the word "manners" then again but much drawn out "mann-nnerrs" then they heard him chuckle a laugh and although she said it sounded a litle demonic she felt no way threatened....he then reached into his pocket and pulled out a whistle which he then proceeded to play it in "perfect" pitch, she said it sounded almost heavenly, mum was transfixed, she couldnt understand why no-one else was wanting to stand and watch, they both saw it.....and there was not any wires visible and she said they eyes and movements of it were too fluid to be electronic...she said he was dressed in odd attire too.....this is absolutely true story and i am going to get my mum to recount it as she would be better at describing it than me as she was there.....i think "wee folk " what do you think...?

Are there any Ley Lines going through that area they were in?  If there is a cathedral in the vacinity I am assuming there are. 

 well Sailisbury is an ancient city.....although i say city is more like a large country town.....the cathedral cam be seen for miles and miles.......and very quaint.........Dorset Enland is steeped in old histroy.......

sounds like the "pixies" to me.  >Propriety< means alot.

But if it is not a pixie and you call it one you could really piss it off . (Like a Leprechaun or an Elf) I think that would be a blast to go out partying with wee folk.

I'd say that the cryptid implied a respect for the ancients, so he played that music to remind them to stop and enjoy the magic... But I'll wait for you to post your mother's (and her partner's) experience in their own words.

Or, it could have just been a "little person" with an odd sense of humor and the rest of the crowd were too polite to stare. Manners.

Well jaguar i thought just that.......until she started to look for the wires.....and arms and legs were spindly.........as i wrote  before i will get her to write her account.......

And i will say.....the  "being" made contact with her eyes first.........she wouldnt have given second glance if that hadnt happened.....it seems as she recounted she realised the eyes  were the the most "prominent" thing out of the whole experience....and the spindly arms and legs.........its movements etc........she first thought it was was an automaton....she then  saw there was no wires....and its position on the pavement which led her to question it...... 

This is a brownie. The description fits exactly. They are not at all demonic but can be a bit scarey when you see one. I have never seen one myself. They can be naughty but do not seek to cause harm. In the past before the church told everyone they were evil, people lived side by side with these interdimensional beings.

 the being was 3-4t high...spindly legs and arms...the face was wrinkly..the eyes were inordinatley large for head, clothes were what mum called old fashioned....he had on long shorts matching jacket..and had a back pack on......its postion on the pavement was that of such which removed the possibilty o it being a shop mannequin, there were no wires.....and mum wouldnt have given second glance except "he" looked straight into her eyes, it was he who initiated the contact....it was a pickalo he pulled out o his pocket and then proceeded to play in perfect pitch...mum said the music sounded heavenly.......she has been busy this week but has assured me she will write account although she also said i just about covered it........although it still would be better coming from her.......soon to follow..

I can't wait. It is sooo good to get acounts like this. You start putting things together and realize that there are big similarities.
