Hey i am new and have a great interest in the paranormal so just saying hi, i was wondering if
anyone had information on how to differenciate between sleep paralysis episodes and genuine alien
abduction i have SP and night terrors but ive also had also had some crazy abduction episodes which
i put down to SP but i wish to make sure for the future, also i have always had what i call dreamons,
five beings who plague my dream and scream commands like "do it!" i slowly wake up in paralysis but
get sucked back in to the dream eventually it climaxes with one giant scream and i awake sat up on edge
and the dream vanishes, is this a common SP experience or something else entirely. Bugsy x

Hey welcome Bugsy! I personaly have never been abducted, but have had eplsodes were im trying to wake up & have alot of presue all over my body & cant move.there r other people on here that can help u more.

You know, I've had nearly the exact same experience. Reading what you said sent chills down my spine.

When I was a kid (about 7), I woke up and couldn't move. For some reason I heard a very loud...very angry commanding voice telling me "DO IT!". It was a deeper male voice, and it was very much a scream. At the same time, there was this ...impulse...to trace a circle around my head with my fingertip. I remember I started crying and tracing the circle over and over again, hoping it would stop.

Much MUCH later in life (20), I had an experience in which that same voice would ...bark at me. I can't explain it any other way. It would yell "HA!", and it was very pronounced and audible, and mean sounding. I got the sensation that whatever was yelling was on the ceiling above me.

I deduced the following. Both times happened at night, near sleep. Perhaps my dreaming mind overlapped my waking mind briefly. Or my mind mistakenly amplified an otherwise harmless noise. I tell myself this because, honestly, I don't want to think about the alternative.

Again, I know nothing about medicine. Could they be hallucinations? Like fever dreams?

try looking up 'exploding head syndrome' . it might not explain exactly those instances, but i haven't researched it enough to know if loud voices could be another version of this phenomenon. either way it's an interesting condition that I wasn't aware existed till earlier this year, in which i realized I had it, but never knew what to call it. but i hear loud noises, and sometimes i can hear my voice being called. every time though i'm never quite sure if i heard it really or not. haha. it's a weird thing. but every now and then i'll also get a flash of light associated with a loud bang/gunshot type sound. very brief and alarming. used to scare me when i was little but nowadays i've a little desensitized to it. it's late. i'm rambling. sorry. :)

I remember that happening to me too. Id almost be asleep & then hear a loud deep voice would say my name. Now im on so much meds I dont hear them. But I am still hearing churchbells.

When on the verge of sleep i have had the experience of everything speeding up as if my brain was running at hundreds of times normal speed.When this happens i have to get up and focus on something to get my mind to slow down.
Its a very strange sensation and the whole subject of sleep is very mysterious!!

Im happy to read such similiar situations in a way it is comforting... although these
events are apparently chemicals being released causing terror panic hallucinations and
on one occasion for myself euphoria a part of me is never truly at ease by it...
i do think there is a paranormal element to some of these occurencies, although
it can be explained by science with small amounts of research... i'm still not convinced.
i do truly believe there is something more to dreams than just random images during REM sleep.

I read that it is related to stress? I don't recall having any stress. My life is pretty easy so far. It did mention anti-depressants and withdrawals from SSRI's like zoloft and luvox. I never was on any medication either.

But I'll be darned. Its a real diagnosis. ICD9 327.49.

I too believe there is a paranormal effect also.i believe thwres so much more to the world & to us then science.

Exactly, sometimes i feel slightly embarassed by complete skeptics and their
narrow mindedness whilst science and the study of life etc is obviously a big
development for the human race and for that i'm proud but when you are thrown on a rock
in a solar system in a galaxy in a universe the third to the tenth dimension, full of
extenstencial crisis and searchign for meaning. all these aspects some which we understand
some we dont. to say that we can totally dismiss paranormal events and have an explanation
for everything is i think quite arrogant, i think we have to accept that on any
subject our knowledge only goes so far after that we are completly out of our depth lol,
i guess thats whats faith for. old ladies and black shadow men mass hallucinations during sleep paralysis spread over thousands of people, that for me is quite hard to swallow. although
it seems that some people when they first hear of sleep paralysis they experience it i can
account for this in people i know. anyway i apologise i mean yo say i agree lol. and i
promised myself i wouldnt get opinionated and babble on my apologies!

experiences under SP and now i have an whole other avenue tyo explore and help my understanding

I have "spiritriality" religion but not a certain one bit mix with others ,u could say I pick & chews what I want but it works for me. Anyway what im saying is faith gets u though alot

I would say i am quite religious not at all devout and sometimes i wonder if my
paranormal belief and interest contridicts my faith or if it is just a counterpart.
