My farm, the horror.

Its been awhile since I've been on the forum; and well there has been a rather good reason for that. In July I started a new career as a rabbit farmer got a plot of land, built a building and settled for what has been a rather exciting and frustrating challenge that has kept me away from the pc.
Anyway I have had two rather interesting experiences. My plot isn't too far from a sight of a battle that took place in 1806 (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Blaauwberg). Now according to what I have heard is that there has never been a reported haunting linked to the Battle of Blaauwberg but on every Monday and Tuesday I hear pipes and drum at about 3am. At first I thought it was the pub down the lane but its only operates Thursdays to Saturday, its interesting to me that it has a scheduled that is so strict, other interesting thing that my attempts to record it are met with the occasional traffic noise and nothing else, will post when I figure out how to.
The most disturbing thing happened last Wednesday night when I saw a light moving around inside the shed; more or less in the middle of the structure; where I keep my rabbits. Now I live in South Africa and being a farmer is often an invitation for criminals becuase of our isolation. So I was nervous called the cops and kept watch. But there was no sign of anybody or anything having entered or moved around the outside of the building ( it is locked at all times) the next morning I had five rabbits dead.
Now I find these things rather disturbing, but I dont know If I should be scared or not.

Did you eat the five rabbits?

Anyway, I wouldn't worry about it unless you have, like, ten rabbits dead.

Nope froze them, till I could to get round to dissecting them today,I dont see anything wrong with them. I saw similar light last going round the building, it freaked me and my dog out, who I take hunting often and doesn't shy at anything. I dont know going to try and take a picture of it if it shows up again or shoot it.

Sounds like you got polterguists buddy. They like music and lights and basicly being annoying. There also know to cause the deaths and or frighting of animals.

Update time, been busy recently trying not to be killed by the local labor. No jokes there things in my part of the world have gone to hell in a hand basket. But last week my dog died, only three years old and a few more rabbits. Decided that the dog and the rabbits had better go to the vet for testing to find out what killed them and well the reply I got this past Friday was that there was nothing physically wrong with the animals. Nothing no signs of poisoning, injuries, heat stress, dehydration or poor nutrition.
Also I have noticed no more lights and the drumming has stopped completely. I really have no clue whats happening short of ghost (maybe my ex is trying to get me again), aliens or really shitty luck.

What kind of power system are you running? I ask because what you are describing sounds like either ball lightening or plasma. That phenomenon can kill animals, it has been documented. I would say to have your electrical system checked and the connections to whatever equipment you are running outside. And find out what kind of soil/bedrock you sit on, etc. High quartz content could certainly contribute to electrical or EM events.

As for the pipes and drums it sounds like a residual haunt. That there has been no talk of haunting there I find kind of suspect. I cannot imagine a battlefield that does not carry a shadow of the pain and fear that happened there. Also, it could be that an electrical problem has boosted the surrounded EM field giving the phenomenon more energy to manifest. Just throwing that out there, no one knows how any of this works.

I am truly sorry about your losses. It must be very difficult to have such things happen without explanation.

Thank you. To answer your questions about my power system, I have a solar set up running a the lights in my cottage and have no lights inside the rabbit shed, I do however have high voltage lines running 100m from my fence. My farm is being developed from near virgin bush which could explain the lack of reports of haunting in the past. The soil has a relatively low quartz content and lime stone bedrock. But I think any sign of an electrical event that could have caused death would have left burns on or in the animal or been strong enough to case the animals hearts to stop would have probably effected me too.

Not necessarily. Many animals, and some people are killed every year by indirect lightening; a number of which display no external nor internal signs. It is usually a matter diagnosis by exclusion.

As for it not affecting you it could simply be that you have not been in close enough proximity to the event. My dad had witnessed on two occasions plasma balls in his utility room where the fuse box was located. On two other occasions my sister found him unconcious, once on the floor of that room and once right outside the door. He did not remember what happened either time. (At the time of all four incidents there were nearby appliances that were damaged and would not work correctly afterwards, they had to be replaced.) Both times he was taken to hospital where they could find no explanation. All of his tests came back normal. He actually never recovered from the last event as his immune system took a gigantic nose dive and he was beset by several usually controlable infections that overwhelmed his body.

That you are near high voltage lines is certainly suspect. I think an inexpensive EMF monitor might help you pinpoint any "danger" areas on your property. I do wish you good luck and do your best to stay safe, not only in regards to this anomaly but the other problems you are having as well.

jaguarsky, I started taking EMF readings today, interestingly the levels are lower than stated by the local energy producer. But day one of reading taking, one day is not enough to establish a pattern.

I am so sorry for the loss of ur dog & of the rabbits,I wish I new something that would help.

Thanks spooky1, well I now have a reason for the death of my dog and rabbits, and maybe even the light I observed. I was digging a drainage trench round the back of my rabbit shed on friday, when I found a void filled with decaying vegetation, and gas. I think that its possible that my dog and rabbits died from methane poisoning.
