And my house had been so quiet...

Some of you may remember from previous posts that over the last few years or so my house has had a lot of paranormal actiivty.  After taking into account all the activity and comparing it to historical accounts I determined that I had some sort of fairy creature living in my house.Basic rundown of what was happening:My mother, sister, and some female relatives had seen a small, old man who appeared to be wearing dingy work clothes in and around the house.  From all descriptions he appeared to be between 2 and 3 feet tall with brown weathered skin.  He liked to appear when people were doing house work, or he would be outside sitting under a tree reading a book.My father and myself would experience poltergeist like activity.  Voices, objects moving on their own, and the sounds of people moving through other parts of the house. For a short while I was having problems with a doplleganger of my cat, which at one point actually attacked me.  This creature proved to be supernaturally strong and was able to knock me to the ground and hold me there while it scratched up my arms and stomach before I finally cracked it over the head and it ran off, never to be seen again. The last instance was a ghostly apparition which seemed to be trying to take on the guise of one of my dogs but doing a poor job of it.  I have a rat terrirer-something else mix and a beagle-something else mix that are both small with black and white spots.  This creature tended to be about the size of a german shepard.  It would sit beside me, but run and hide when I tried to look at it.  Several times it actually rubbed up against me like a regular animal before vanishing.None of this had occurred in months.  I had hoped that following classic fairy lore the activity would stop after I started talking to everyone about it.  Fairies are supposed to get pissed and leave when you rat them out, apparently. Then, just the other night, I saw the little gnome looking dude for the first time.I had gone into the kitchen to make some ramen for my 2 AM snack.  I was standing in the kitchen when both my dogs came running for the front door like they wanted outside.  I turned to oblige them when just a few feet behind them came the gnome.  He was a little taller than knee high on me and I'm 5' 8".  He was wearing pristine white painter's coveralls with a baseball cap turned backward on his head.  When he saw me he backpedalled to a stop then stood there looking at me for a few seconds completely frozen.  He was actually squating a little bit like a short stop, it looked like he was getting prepared in a flight or fight sort of way.  We stood looking at each other for a few mintues until finally I told him if he was hungry there was honey in the cupboard and milk in the fridge then went back to fixing my ramen (which was now at a good boil).Including myself, there have been 5 people see this guy that I know of and I am the only male to see him.

That...is amazing.  I've had some activity in the house involving occult type beings who have followed me a long time. I can't say whether I've first experienced them at my first home or second home. But for the most part ever since I've lived near Rock Lake in WI there's been a lot of paranormal activity going on for me. I've seen a figure siloheutted by a street light as it was walking towards me. (at the time I was learning to see auras with my eyes so I had been expanding the light of the street light in my perception when it started siloheutting it walking towards me.) Interesting though to hear you mention faeries, I'm starting to wonder if that would be the case for a lot of areas in America too. What if all the paranormal activity everyone is looking for are really disgruntled beings who, feeling wronged when they passed away, in addition to faeries? That's an amazing story though, all I can say is it seems from his mannerisms that he's encountered humans before and I'm guessing it wasn't a good thing when his species first encountered humans. Looking at it from a biological perspective.  Any more recent accounts? Seems as though the faerie would be partial to females moreso than males. That he even wanted you to see him is an amazing feat on it's own. I hear something in my basement all the time and sense numerous entities in my house that I can't describe past "what was that noise?" or "what is it I'm sensing that I can't see".

The post above pretty much covers everything.  To get a little more specific on the objects moving themselves, the first instance I had of paranormal activity in this house was when I witnessed a print of Da Vinci's "The Last Supper" fly off of one wall, hit the other, and then shatter.  Every member of my family has reported hearing conversations in the house almost nightly.  Two nights in a row my guitar actually strummed a couple chords on its own, but just those two nights.  What is weird about this is that all the activity is unique.  The conversations people hear are always different, sometimes unintelligble, and in one case a male voice actually spoke to my mother when she was alone in the room.  The gnome always seems to be described as the same old man, but he apparently changes his clothes.  Where the activity happens is always different and it doesn't seem to follow any pattern or trigger that I can discern.  I've never felt afraid in this house.  I've actively participated in several investigations of other properties.  Some were fruitless and one place was amazingly active (and was torn down and the property blessed shortly after my investigation because of the activity).  When I was a kid the first house my family lived in was terrifying.  There was a lot of activity there that seemed to be malevolent.  I would often see my toybox moving about the room at night (a big plastic kangaroo, terrifying) and once was locked in my closet.  Being locked in my closet wouldn't have been so bad if the door had a latch and didn't swing both ways.  It was the kind of free swingig door you see in supermarkets and factories.  That house was just plain evil and also was torn down and blessed because of the activety , though that had nothing to do with me or any of the activity my family witnessed.  It was people we didn't even know who moved into that place about 10 years after my family vacated it.

Wow...that's creepy. I honestly believe that more recently there have been stronger spiritual occurences that can only be logically linked to the shift in the earth's magneto-sphere, and perhaps the increased solar activity.  Amazing stories though, kudos for posting this online. If you want to add me on facebook and send me a message to discuss this further my facebook name is "Chris James Albright". Seems that gnome has one hell of a personality, I wonder if it's living where your house now is on a different dimension...pretty interesting to me. I've had freaky supernatural experiences where I oftentimes ponder if some spirits just hate life for the sole purpose of it living and breathing...been a practicing wiccan for 6 or so years now. Am starting to hide that information from more people due to the misunderstandings witches get. Ever tried writing a note for the gnome to write back to you on?

What I appreciate about this forum is tha fact that no one calls b.s on anything..your story is great and I would love to experience something as cool as this. Glad to see so many open minds on here!
tapuout4985   posted:2/27/2011 3:29:49 PM  (Reply)
Yes, it is very rare to find people on here who call b.s.  We might disagree from time to time on what may be causing an event, but almost never disagree on the event having occurred.  That is the main reason I love this place.  It is also really nice because it seems many of us have had similar experiences and it is good to have people to comunicate with about them.

Another phenomena that I forgot to add: scratches.  I had forgotten about an incident a few months ago where my dad stayed over and when he got up the next day he had a scratch running from his right shoulder, down his side, and to just above his right knee.  The scratch was nearly a perfect line and deep enough to bleed a little.  I'd spaced this incident until this morning when I woke up and had a similar scratch that nearly crosses my entire neck.  Neither his scratch or mine look to have been done with fingernails and I know it wasn't one of my pets because the cats have all been declawed and I lock them out of my room before I go to sleep anyway.

I agree with abnormal EMF in our atmosphere to boost 'paranormal' occurences, like sliding open doors to other dimensions / parallel universes / time periods, etc... Assuming the previous owner of your current home was not simply a short-statured handymanm, the fairies do carry baggage like shadow-world beings that like to mimic animals, sometimes people.  I'm just glad that you and yours aren't easily spooked, because from what you've described I'd immediately engage in warfare with those beings over every single threat made!  The cut across your neck would've been the last straw for me, and I suggest you put in place whatever defenses you can muster before the slashing gets worse. I hope your 'live-in' gnome begins to communicate something other than 'wtf', next time. That would be incredible!

I haven't posted anything about for too long, been busy working on my degree.  Doesn't mean the house hasn't been exciting, though! The most exciting experience was night before last (July 9, 2011).  I have had several instances of seeing strange animal apparitions in my house and garage in the past, but this night was different.  I was getting ready for bed and had just turned off my light (a lamp on the far side of my room from the door) when I heard a rustling sound.  I'm used to my cat getting locked in my room and then scratching on my door to let me know she wants out, and that is what I thought I was hearing.  I turn the light back on and just about had a heart attack.  Sitting in front of my door (two steps from where I sit now) was a panther.  It had no appearance of being an apparition, but looked just as real as anything else in the room.  I gave a warcry (sort of like this one: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V3PT5tXOb1g) and pulled my knife from under my pillow (a 13" Viking saex, probably wouldn't have been much use anyway, but I felt better having it in my hand).  At seeing this I can only describe the panther's reaction as being disappointed.  It turned its head away from me and started panting with it's tongue hanging out, then walked into my door and disappeared.  When I say walked into my door I mean that it almost looked like my door was some sort of portal, it had the right shape and color to be my door but seemed wrong.  I watched the panther walk away as though it were an image on a TV set, just growing smaller and more distant until it vanished from sight.Other strange incidents since my last update include seeing a full bodied apparition of a man (in the same doorway except this time it was open) and hearing someone open a soda/beer can and start walking around the house.  When I first saw the apparition in the doorway I thought it was my dad come to visit.  I was working on a paper for school and didn't even bother to turn my whole attention on it (only saw it in the corner of my eye) and told him I'd finish my paragraph and be out to talk to him in a second.  The apparition turned and walked away just like anyone would.  I got up a second or two later and soon figured out I was alone in my house.

So, do you know of a techie that can rig up a typical motion sensitive device to a simple video camera? Or a camera that snaps photos on a fifteen-second timer?  Yeah, there's better tech out there if you can afford it, and some paranormal investigators who can at least steer you in the right direction... Also, although learning the history of your home/property is useful....... Dude, you've got to "center your nerves to steel" or "put up your God Shield" and TALK to these thingiez.Me, I'm certifiable - so I'd run full-tilt into the portal....with the knife. Dont do that. Just be prepared spiritually for the next event. Peace.

As far as the recorded history of the property there really isn't anything to report.  I live close to the area of the Spirit Lake Massacre (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spirit_Lake_Massacre), but as far as I can figure nothing actually ever happened here.  I find it weird that I saw the apparition of a non-native animal.  In the 20 years I've been living here there hasn't been anytime I've felt threatened.  The activity is weird, and sometimes very random, but never seems to be a danger.  What is also weird is that everyone seems to have a different set of experiences, but everyone who spends significant time here does have an expereince.  My experiences hae been almost entirely animal apparitions or poltergeist activity.  My mother and sister will visit and they see this brownie like creature that likes to hang around the kitchen or sit outside in the shade.  My dad comes over and he hears voices.  It definitely seems like people's experiences are based on their gender.

I've only known about gender being an issue within certain coven magicks and inter-cryptid breeding attempts. Please tell me what you know about paranormal experiences being gender particular. That would expand my mind.Well, if you were never threatened by the mathematics of chaos, then what's up with the Viking blade under the pillow? I mean, you could've just spooked your 'spirit animal' away, for example. Then again, you sensed no gender with the creature. Unless your knife has event-specific runes on it... I don't get it, Mister MMA. What exactly are you doing about all this? I know that the history of any place can be a difficult thing to bring to light. But you (or your family)  haven't dexribed attempting contact with any of these apparitions.Try the Captain America approach: Instead of your knife, offer a hand in greeting... but keep a shield in the other - just in case.

Haha, although I have some pretty sick jui jitsu I think I'll go with a knife before grappling with a large cat (I would have preferred a more serious weapon, but they were all closer to the animal).  I have tried a more diplomatic approach to the activity in my house.  I've offered food an drink, and basically extended the hospitality any guest would expect.  What I find strange about this house is the complete randomness of the activity.  I've been doing amateur paranormal investigations for about eight years now and I've never been to a location that had anything other than a residual style haunting, with the exception being my own home.  The best that I can figure there are two entities here.  One is the brownie/gnome/fairy that has been spotted here.  He always appears as a tiny old man, appears willingly, and appears to women.  The one time I saw him it seemed to be a mistake.  When I saw him I kind of had the impression he either didn't think I was going to see him when he ran into the room, or he didn't know I was there.  The other entity is the one that appears as various animals.  Prior to the reaction to me pulling a knife on it the other night it had never shown any intelligence.  Before it had always acted like whatever animal it appeared as.  Usually content to either wonder around my garage, or lay on the furniture, and only once did it ever want to interact with me.  It just walked up and rubbed on my leg like a cat (it actually looked like a shorter and stockier version of my cat).  When I tried to pick it up it jumped on me and scratched me then ran off and vanished.  I don't think it is possible this was a real cat, there was no where for a stray to enter or exit my house without me seeing it and there was no evidence left behind to indicate there was ever a foreign animal in my house. Currently I'm not doing anything about what is happening.  I don't feel threatened and there has been activity in this house as long as I have lived in it.  I figure if whatever it is was here before me, it has the right to stay as long as it isn't a danger.  I just observe it and occasionally report to you all.  I've tried setting up trail cams (trap cams, motion activated cameras, pick your preference) before, but they always ended up broke without ever taking a picture.  I've also had two point-and-shoot cameras and one cell phone fail while trying to take pictures.

Hey there, not sure if you saw my post so I'm reposting it.You should read this book:http://www.mystoftheoracle.com/WEB/MAINPAGES/SeeingandSensingGnomes.htmIt's funny you said you saw the "cat" When I was reading this book I would see a tiger but it had a longer face and his ears were longer and had long hair on the tips.  Kind of looked prehistoric or almost cartoonish.  One of my friends thought it might be a hell hound.  BUT it's a cat not to mention I don't get any scary or creepy fellings around it.  He's kind of peaceful.  Maybe a protector??
