Is death just a shift of conciousness into another reality??

I have just read a very interesting story in a book by the English paranormal investigator Jenny Randles.
Two women,a mother and daughter are travelling by car on the multi lane freeway near Hollywood when the lose control of the vehicle and are sent spinning into three lanes of fast moving traffic. They reported later that "time stretched out and slowed down, and all the sounds around them disappeared,it was as if they were in a deep well and every contact with the bustling real world environment had disappeared".Then they describe "two men in a car in close focus laughing and joking and completely ignorant of them as their car was slicing through them as its its body were made of fog. They felt a bump, and found themselves on the other side of the road with not so much as a scratch on the car.
My question is this, did the two women die in many realities, and by sheer luck survive in one?Or was something else at work?

Good god, man. If you read the thread I started on "How Do You Know?", you`d see how confused I already am. Now you go start a thread like this, and give me something else to be confused about. lol j/k
Anyway, I`ve read about things like this, and one theory is that events are imprinted on time, or something like that, and every once in awhile, we bump into it. Supposedly that`s why we see ghosts. Guess I need to find it and read it again. I`ve thought about this, and am still confused. haha

this is something that ive been thinking about for quite a while. a few years ago i was walking past a newsagents and i had a sudden urge to play the lottery, something that i rarely do. anyway i went in and started putting my numbers in and it felt like i was the luckiest man alive and no matter what happend i couldnt do wrong. the first 4 numbers were fine but then the last 2 numbers i started to lose the feeling almost like i came out of the zone. when the draw came up i had 4 numbers but the last 2 didnt come out. i firmly believe that in some way i tapped briefly into another reality. there are a lot of instances of this type of thing where people KNOW they are in for a big win, im sure theres lots of other ways this can manifest itself like the car crash if only it could be studied scientificly and repeated then theres no end to the doors it could open

@weldkatom: I think that accident was averted by very powerful beings to put this timeline into a particular order. Those particles were rearranged so that everyone on that road would continue to live, especially the mom and daughter with their vehicle. Most "miracle" auto accidents leave cars wrecked but bodies unscathed. In this case, everything was preserved except their trajectory, which was controlled only after they cleared the highway. Wether it was "Divine" or by tech-based design, the result is that many people were safe at that moment in time.
Perhaps keeping the women conscious throughout the event was what kept them alive, like an active paramedics triage en route to hospital? Also, phasing them like that rendered them and their car invisible, aiding the transition and keeping up the safety factor.

@breeld: "The Others" is a well presented idea of the relation of hauntings and time.

@RiceRocket: Parallel realities are funny with synchronicity being off by a fraction, aren't they? The trick, so I hear, is to affect only your actual reality. And if someone would volunteer to be part of a scientific death-defying car crash experiment, they're either professional stuntmen with 99% control over the event, or a suicidal maniac. Either way consequences don't mind the matter.

Yeah, I'm good.

Good authority has it that it is not a shift to a different reality (as the most cohesive of philosophies adhere to the notion of one whole and wholly physical reality not separated into planes as Cartesian Dualism would have it), but rather a shift in the perception of time.

When one understands that the bulk of interactions with angels take place in the realm of dreams and/or just after waking or shortly before sleep (as Moses Maimonides notes), this matches up on some level with Stoic notions of sleep and its closeness to death. From the Internet Encyclopedia of Philosophy:

The doctrine of pneuma and total blending allowed the Stoics to adopt Plato's definition of death as "the separation of the soul from the body." The Stoics, however, used this definition against Plato, arguing that since only physical things can separate from physical things, the soul must be corporeal. Since the soul pervades the body as a crasis type mixture, separation is possible. The separation seems to occur by a loosening of the tension of the soul. Sleep is said to be a kind of mild relaxing, whereas death is a total relaxing of the tension which results in the departure of the soul from the body.

Dying is not the end of a person's existence, according to the Stoics. Once the soul has separated from the body it maintains its own cohesion for a period of time. Chrysippus and Cleanthes disagreed regarding the fate of the soul after death. Cleanthes held that the souls of all men could survive until the conflagration, a time in which the divine fire totally consumes all matter. Chrysippus, on the other hand, held that only the souls of the wise are able to endure. The souls of the unwise will exist for a limited time before they are destroyed or reabsorbed into the cosmic pneuma. The souls of irrational beasts are destroyed with their bodies. In no case is there any indication that the survival of the soul after death had any direct benefit to the individual or that the Stoics used this as a motivator toward ethical or intellectual behavior. There is no heaven or hell in Stoicism; the time to live one's life and to perfect one's virtues is in the present.

Interesting to ponder.

Though I disagree with your bulky angel statement, I give ya a gold star Mr AM. Show me a sage, and I'll show you the mask of apathy. I mean, Flatliners is a comedy skit just like these necronauts, but I ask again, who has the ovaries to put such theories of Death to practice? If people would provide publicly accessible evidence and proof to esoteric musings on time, space, creatures beyond mortal humans, and death... everything will be fine. Life is short, pray hard.

Let's stop wondering and play with, I mean scientifically study "death"! No? No takers? Oh, alright... I'm just sayin' that even skeptics use anecdotal evidence to justify their Vulcan ways. LOL

A shift in consciousness is definitely a perception of "time".

Thats a very final statement.Do you believe that when you die, thats it??You and your mind, your memories, your conciousness just cease to exist??

Forgetting does not mean a thing ceases to exist. There is no "oblivion". Even if we went along with the incomplete scientific fact that when a person dies their heat energy is released, it implies the basic idea that one form of energy is converted into another, but the particle is still there. This is why I say that when a person dies (and how many clinically did but came back to 'life') and this fleshy body turns to a $5 gallon of gasoline, the part that powered it, the spirit, the intelligence, that will always be. When a person dies, they keep their experiences, personality, and relationships. As to spatial recognition, well of course there's a place to go and things to do after 'death'. Consider the many aspects of water, when ice melts then boils and travels as it does. That electric spark that is your true unique individual self, always existed and always will.

Unless I'm somehow resucitated by medicine (water), CPR (air), transplant (earth), or tiny jumper cables (fire), I'll make sure to haunt everyone on Earth so you know what's up. LOL

As I said, I am Sephiroth. For me, death is a travel to another Life.

So what are you the dark prince of anyway I forgot to ask?
Orphen   posted:3/21/2012 9:55:23 PM  (Reply)
I am a far heir of the Great Ones blood. That's all.
LincolnGenghis   posted:3/21/2012 11:34:20 PM  (Reply)
I am confused, if you are a far heir of the Great Ones would that not make you more something on the order of Duke or Earl or Sir or something like that.
:

Oh crap somebody that knows how royal lineage works help me out here. What are some of the other titles for far removed royalty.

:

And why are they the great ones.... Did they give themselves that title?

Orphen   posted:3/22/2012 5:32:49 AM  (Reply)
I consider them as the Great Ones cause I know how great they are.
Actually, I consider myself as an human like others.
Moreover, this is not easy to find I have a part of their blood.

Death is simply a body/soul separation. Body biologically dies
and the soul should go to the Spirits World and she be reincarned
later in newborn human.

Toilet roll inserts can be lethal!!
Awesome choice. I wonder how condoms filled with rocks would do?
A toilet plunger might be formidable also.
