Have you guys heard about this? Every 188 days or so, we get a pretty big earthquake. Youtube it to see some videos. Theories?

I actually read about it a few weeks ago and posted at my workplace "I hereby predict that a large earthquake will occur on March 22nd"

Well, as luck would have it, a big one just hit Mexico today. Minus a few days variance, this cycle thing seems to hold pretty true. I don't know much about geology. I'll look into the astrophysics of it and see what I can find out.

The only thing I've dug up so far is that the cycle seems to coincide with Earth's position in the solar system. If our planet is more or less between Jupiter and Saturn...it seems to happen, but that is a HUGE approximation.

Jes ! An earthquake hits the earth everyday! What do you mean by pretty big... let's here the actaul Richter scale number. Higher than 8.0? will 7.0 do. Is your date of the 22nd March cast iron. Will you withdraw from the predictions game forever if you are wrong?

Do you really think that scientists have missed a large earthwuake occurring on the button of every 6 months exactly? And YOu picked it up?

You're the one giving out about Ice Wolf?

If this turns out to be bullshit on the 22nd of March I'd like you to publicly apologise to Ice Wolf whose theory is still viable while yours is proven nonsense!

Oh please, Icewolf's "theory" isn't possible to be disproven....lucky for him. A theory is something that can be tested, his cannot while this one CAN. He also never said "exactly". Did you even read the post?

And snowballs, Levinous said it was a theory that he came across and was curious about it , and was looking into it. He said where he found it. He made no other claims then that. He did not say he was a secret low level NASA scientist that uncovered a plot that has now put him in Danger. LOL

Mexico had a 7.4 a few hours ago.

I think Mr Wolf is like that guy from the movie True Lies who pretends to be a spy to impress the ladies.
Can you imagine the bowel evacuation if some real authorities turned up on his doorstep!!

Snovella...chill!

I ran across it in youtube. I don't endorse it or insist it is real. I'm asking about everyone's opinion of it. Not your opinion of me.

Apparently Snovella, you didn't even bother to google it. What the "theory" states is that every 188 days (OR SO), we have a 7.0 + earthquake. Here is a timeline below. the 188 days is an approximation. Just like Aristotle's pendulum. But it still might be scientifically valid.

Chile -- February 27, 2010 -- 8.8-magnitude

New Zealand -- September 4, 2010 -- 7.1-magnitude

Japan -- March 11, 2011 -- 9.1-magnitude

Fiji -- September 15, 2011 -- 7.2-magnitude

Mexico - March 20, 2012 - 7.4-magnitude

Here is a youtube video for those who don't like to read.

Again, I'm a science/data whore so I don't really look into things like alignments with constellations or biblical prophecy. Not unless there is some hardcore data from numerous reputable sources. But this thing is pretty much operating like clockwork.

A few points here, you aggressive little monkey...

1. It is not my theory. Only a curiosity I cam across.
2. Ice wolf, most of us agree, is pulling a prank.
3. I'm asking for input, not insisting a bizarre claim.
4. The 188 day cycle can be observed as probable by anyone alive today, not secretive NASA scientists who strangely know nothing about science.
5. I really would talk to someone about your feelings. You seem frustrated with life. Draw yourself a warm bath and drink some vodka.

Darn it all, I missed one point.

I couldn't help but notice you posted this six hours after the 188 day cycle came to fruition. Admittedly, I giggled inside.

if Snovella posted from the Old World side of Earth, then they posted 18 hours before the Mexican quake of 7.4

You are debunked out of the park...

Apologies???

How can he be "debunked" when he clearly states that it his not his theory, its merely a curiosity that he posted for discussion?
godlypunk   posted:3/26/2012 3:03:16 PM  (Reply)
Apologies!!!???!! I am so amused by this Snov.
