I have had a couple of past life "experiences". In neither was I of elevated status. In the first, I was an acolyte that tended a sacred flame at a temple in what I believe was Greece. I died there, old and nearly forgotten; the temple in near ruin because of shifting religious beliefs. The other memory is of standing in a cold fog, dressed in clothes of the late 1700's I think, (kinda hard to tell, was very bundled up). I was gazing out to sea, waiting for a ship to return. I don't recall much of that situation except for the overwhelming sadness. As for "place" I think perhaps the British Isles or maybe New England.I am leaning more towards NE because it is a place I felt very drawn to as a child. I did eventually move there as an adult and it felt like coming home.I do not know the mechanics of reincarnation, I don't think we ever really will, but my theory is that most of it could be explained by genetic memory. That does not of course work in all cases, especially those where the new life manifests quickly after the death of someone not related. It is all quite interesting though and I hope that someday we find a better understanding of the phenomenon.

Another set back to genetic memory is that some past life memories are future in which unusual future gagets are remember for example. Time is not linear as most people think it is all happening now, just in slightly different frequencies. This makes for an interesting thought... could inventers be creating things from a future past life memory?

I think that sometimes really strong strong stroooong cases of deja vu can be felt as an overlap from something you did/said in your previous life. When I was younger I would have alot of experiences or dejavu and dreams that were so real that when I woke up itd take me an hour or longer to be able to distinguish it from my reality of an actual memory as opposed to dreaming. For awhile I just forgot about those experiences but Ive found that while working with energy manipulation and interkinectic studies I can have these dreams at will or just completely shut them off. I dont think that humans will understand past lives in our century but I do believe that our "past" experiences bleed into our lives more regularly than people remember or pay attention to...Id like to be able to study this on a large national/international level...

I saw the movie "Kundun" well after cable news & other journalists were covering the process of finding the next Dalai-Lama. Here's the short of it if you don't know. It involves finding a toddler with an impeccable memory of the previous Dalai-Lamas' life/works. Cool, huh? It makes me think of the whole "scientific proof vs. faith" hobby (that's right, ya'll read it). Back to the subject, I have an uncle who went to someone who told him that in a past life he was one of those ancient Roman boat-drummers (I forget the job title), among other quite mundane lives. He finds it interesting, and so do I.Setting the "Quantum Leap" tv series (sorry, man. my memory.) theory of time being like a ball of yarn where if explored allows access to any point and therefore implies "future memory" (uh-oh. here come the Prophets sayin' 'we told you so') ASIDE... When I imagine what "my past lives" may have been, I see myself several times as a christian monk, a drowning caribbean shipmate, a victorian s.o.b., a Hindu test-pilot, an abused starving-to death central-american child, and a porn movie extra. Hahahaha-hahaaa! I really do! Anyway, thanks for the brainstorm. Back to my Tesla-Coil....

Even though time is not linear in nature, it is still our experience of time. I have not had the memory of "future" events. I think that would be pretty cool. I have had incidents of pre-cognition, but I am not really sure that is the same thing. Hmmm, now if I could just "remember" that lotto number....BTW, what does one call the memory of a future event?

uhh... duh?  "Vuja-de"? (cheez-whiz I hope that doesn't translate bad).  Or is it, "difficult to see. Always in motion is the future"?  I like the Yoda explanation anyway. It points out individuality and has room for chance. In a past life, the "elite" were my b! (h3z....

I agree, also there are cases of people who remembered their name etc and as children were able to look their past life up. Sometimes the past life was a totally different place on the globe and completely unrelated genetically. One case in particular was of a little freckled red headed boy who remembered himself in the war as a black man and found his past self.

Thanks for clearing that up for me. I needed a chuckle this morning.

I have a very distinct memory of somewhere I have never been, it's a room, perhaps on a house boat or that joins the water. The room is all wood panelling with one big long window. A river can be seen, and I know it's a river because there's shores either side, too narrow to be a lake.Genetic memory or past life or just something my mind cooked up, who knows, but it's very vivid and very familiar. I know I'm an adult when I'm there, something about the distance from my point of view to other objects and the floor.

If you say you don't recall any past life experiences, you are not paying attention to your feelings, fears and dreams.  Did you ever have a reocurring dream when you were a child where you were a different person from another time?  Those dreams are past life memories.  What are your likes now?  Do you have a desire to visit an area of the country or world?  What are your interests?  What are your fears?  If you wrote down a list of everything you are interested in, as an example: Lighthouses, boats and the ocean, music, sports, the Civil War, Williamsburg, Egypt, France, etc.  Then make a list of all the things you don't like and your fears--these things would be a clue to you as to where you were in one or more past lives. But the endeavor that would really open your eyes to your past lives would be a past life regression.  I highly recommend the experience to everyone!  A regression takes you back to where and when you've lived before this life and explains many of the interests and fears you have in this life.  It is an eye opening adventure.   You have lived before, Jeff... we all have.  God gives us hints to how things work every season -- life ends in the fall, is sleeping in the winter, and reimmurges every spring--and lives on in the summer until the cycle starts all over again.  That seasonal cycle is a pattern for all life.  If you don't beleive me, get regressed and prove me wrong!  :o)I remember quite a few of my past lives (with the aid of regressions and the exercise I describle), and in none of them was I someone famous... but I recognize how I feel toward certain people in this life by remembering them from lives I've lived with them in the past.  Have you never felt a connection with someone from the first time you've met them, or felt dislike or distrust for a person the moment you've been introduced?  Those feelings are memory jogs... because we all come back in groups.  We  have issues that have to worked out with each other, and until they are worked out to completion, we will continuely try again until the matter has been resolved. If you do the exercise I recommended, please let us know how it turns out for you.  I know we'd all be interested in your results!Christine B.

I've had a recurring dream where I've been a pregnant woman who is shot in the abdomen.  I don't die in the dream.  I just remember being injured and worried about whether or not my baby is injured.  It is usually a deeply disturbing dream.  I'm trying to scream for help but I can't project my voice due to the injury.  I'm just crawling around on the ground terrified.  If I wake up I have trouble going back to sleep.  I've actually woken up on several occasions trying to scream still.  It is a really weird dream considering I'm not female, lol.I've also had recurring dreams that involve an army guy in full biohazard gear coming to my front door, and he abducts me when I answer the door.  I mostly had those dreams during my childhood (age 6-10).  I have also had several dreams that I was a serial killer.  I remember those usually revolving around a hospital.  In one dream I killed a nurse.  The whole time this creepy voice was telling me what to do.  Those were some pretty disturbing dreams, as well.Who knows if any of this is past life stuff, but it seems pretty odd when you have the sames dreams and recurring themes over periods of time.  I have lots of really vivid dreams, but I tend to only remember and write down the ones that scare me awake.

When I was young, I had very, very distinct memories of being a child on a farm, of the house I lived in and our horses, the type of old car we had, etc (although I remember it being very new, the smell, etc). All these emmories are permenantly in my head, but my parents insist they have never stepped foot on a farm or anything like one in their lives, let alone lived on one. I grew up in San Francisco area, so I believe that ... but these memories came from somewhere.Gut instinct tells me that I was a kid in the 50's or 60's and I died somehow, something sudden.I have tried regressive therapy, but I have yet to find someone who can actually get me to "go under". I am told that I hold on to hard and dont relax enough, so... who knows. I would do anything to know for sure.Z

I would love to have Mellissa Watts take me through a past life regression session. She's a hypnotherapist and author of  Lessons of Many Lives. I liked her book but the one that CHANGED my life was Journey of Souls by Dr Michael Newton. This book explains past lives and the Journey that we take, in a way that I can't really explain.  I recomend anyone who wants to know the secret to this life and the ones before read his book first and then hers. I can't wait to get his next one Destiny of Souls. Tammy w\ P.R.I.D.E. Paranormal Research In Developing Evidence also G.P.R.N. Ghostly Pride Radio Network in Sarasota FL

This is right on Target, see it all will come together. I never felt I was Royalty but I have felt poverty but at the same time happiness. I have a liking for the Orient and Midevil times, I also feel a sense of a simple life, free from any computers, space travel, and electricity. Haven't been hypnotized so I don't know who I have been, would like to some time.

I Believe in past lives. I feel like I don't belong in this time and age of life. I have a strong feeling that I lived back in the 1800's. I am very interested in the old west and often feel like I'm far from home. Like home sick and that my life was was out west some where and wearing pairie dresses  living on a ranch. I also have an interest in Italy. Not sure why. I also belive that my family has always been my family through all the past lives. These are just strong feellings about all this. Like an instinct.

This is all very interesting!! I believe in the possibility of past lives and it does have science to back it up. As a cetified parapsychologist I meet with clients that feel the same things as many who have answered to this forum. Some of the experiences can be explained by the brains ability to create worlds that dont actually exist. But in cases where the memories began at a young age and can not be associated with media related memory from movies and books I would say that the possibility of actual past life memory is increased. The idea of past life regression is a good idea for those who have repeat scenarios and loss of sleep by being awakened by very real dreams of possible past lives. There are also those that may want to speak with a therapist to get past some of these feelings of not belonging or that they may have been a killer in a past life. All in all this is a situation for some that will help them to be aware of what makes them who they are, and for some it will lead to a peace that they have not been able to obtain. Which ever category you may fall under the fact is that past life phenomena may very well exist and should be adressed if possible with the help of a proffessional in the field of parapsychology, psychology or psychiatry. These proffessionals can usually help with hypnosis and a wide range of technics to help get to the root of past life phenomena. Good luck to all and hopefully you can find proof that the human energy can exist past death and live again!! M.A.B. Certified Parapsychologist www.esps.co.cc
