I was off somewhere (don't know where) when I heard a young man's voice behind me, he sounded like a teen, say, "Do you think he saw us?" To this I heard another voice answer, "No, but maybe we should take him with us just in case." The second voice sounded female and older, like the voice of a middle aged woman, possibly the first's mother. I immediately came back to to my body and haven't done any meditating, astral projecting, remote viewing, or any other mental exercises since. I don't know if they had malicious intent or not, but the idea of something being there that even thought about taking me against my will upsets me.MichaelTheOne posted:7/16/2010 1:16:46 PM (Reply)On multiple occasions, I have severe sensations of waking up despite my body not moving. Sometimes they include several of what I can only best describe as "dreams within dreams" where I awake and realize I'm still dreaming only to awake AGAIN but find that I am still dreaming. It's hard to describe. These have become so frequent that I now take medication to force myself to sleep so I can remain asleep and get rest. Despite these sleep aids, I still have these split awakenings. These always occur when sleeping by myself on the sofa which is where I have slept for several years now due to my sleep problems. My dreams have become extremely unbelievable and somewhat hard to describe. I need to start recording these when I wake up but I'm usually so worn out or stressed that I just want to forget. The memories of these dreams fades quickly the more time passes after I DO become fully awake. I have come to dread the thought of going to sleep and sleeping without the use of sleep aids since I know these are going to happen. The feeling of not being able to move and struggling to come out of sleep is extremely draining on me and I often feel lucky to have been able to come to an awaken state. This whole thing is worrysome to me. How would you feel if you open your eyes and see you are not moving, yet with eyes closed all signals are telling you that nothing is wrong and you can and are easily moving. It is very frustrating for me and it happens all to often when I am trying to wake up. The dreams themselves are overwhelming for me and this problem of coming back into full control is exhausting on top of them.tapuout4985 posted:7/16/2010 3:11:00 PM (Reply)In Reply To:MichaelTheOne posted:7/16/2010 1:16:46 PM (Reply)On multiple occasions, I have severe sensations of waking up despite my body not moving. I actually had dreams like that every time I slept there, but never when sleeping somewhere else. It is possible that this is being caused by something environmental. Do you have these dreams when sleeping somewhere other than your home?mysticaura posted:7/17/2010 11:17:14 AM (Reply)I am not an expert on this subject but have studied on it very much lately. I too have similar dreams like what you are discribing. what I have found is that when your spirit travels it is usually going to familure places it has known in past lives. Or even to the other side to visit loved ones. when you wake and feel paralized or still sleepy it is your spirits why of protecting you from panicing because you feel or see yourself out of you earthly body. It is normal to forget these dreams but try to remember them and write them down. Anything you can remember will help. Keep a dream jurnial. Or record them. See if there is patteren to them. Over time you will be able to remember your dreams and travels and control them. Over the years I have become very good at controlling my dreams and going back into to dreams. It is possible. I call it dream dancing. Traveling is different and possible also.Your spirit enjoys not being confined to its earthly body and will at times, even if you dont want it, leave your body and travel. Most times we are unaware of this but on occassion like when we wake up before our spirits return we have the sensation of not being able to move or be realy sleepy. I dont know who the people are that were talking in your travels. Did they actualy seem threating or speak in tones that seemed to harm you? Or was it just scary to you?Only you can determine what was realy going on and who the people where. Did the people seem familure to you in some why? Like you knew them but didnt? Or maybe you do know them? I was told we all have spirit guides and angels with us to help us and proctect us from before birth. I have become a true believer in all this. Reincarnation, travels, the other side, higher beings,(creater),spirits, ghost,(yes, there is a difference in spirits and ghost)(my belief),and much more I believe in. I believe so strongly because of my own expeirences. We all know that aminals and young children can see spirits, right? Well I have a cat that can see something around me and she will come up to me but looking above and around me and will stand on her her hind legs and reach up with her front paws while smelling the air like some one is reaching out to pet her but no one is there but me stting still watching her. She does not growl at it so I know its a good spirit. BUT not to long ago both my cats were found upstairs growling and the ceiling. THAT was a bad spirit or ghost. I am native american so I smudged my house and have had no problems after that. The maintenance men are doing work on the houses here and stired up sleeping spirits or ghost. Alot of people here have seen them(ghost) alot lately. I have another true fact about my grandfathers house and a different cat I had years ago. But another time. I am getting off the subject here. I have talked about both forums in one. If it dont fell right or good and you are not sure about things then I would say dont do it until you feel comfortable about it. Do some research and think what those people may have ment when they said that. Pray to the creator, spirit guides and angels for protection, guidence and a safe travel and return. If and when wever you decide to try and travel again. I hope some of this has been helpful. If i think of anything else I write it for you.Oh, and sorry for my spelling.AlimarParanormal posted:8/15/2010 11:20:18 AM (Reply)I've astral projected on about three occasions, and none of these experiences have ever been negative. In fact, the last time I left my body it was quite beautiful. I saw colors that I've never experienced with my physical eyes .. vivid colors .. beyond beautiful. If you're having a negative experience, I would recommend asking for protection ahead of time, and either smudging or using incense. Also, calming music can also be helpful.gemini663181 posted:9/3/2010 11:07:17 AM (Reply)All cases are different!!!! But there is the possibility that many cases are not paranormal. Sleep paralysis is very similar to REM Atonia!!! The paralysis which is part of normal REM(Rapid Eye Movement ) sleep. It can happen when fallig asleep or upon awakening. These two forms of sleep paralysis are known as (Hypnogogic) or predormital, this occurs while falling asleep!! The other is called (Hypnopompic) or postdormital, This happens upon waking. There are many stories and beliefs that can explain these journeys and I am sure that the astral body choose to travel when it likes!! But just remember that a lot of cases of astral travel are simply explained by the bodies reaction to over indulgence in alcoholic beverage and lack of proper sleep. The main cause is up for debate but the statistics say that all humans will experience sleep paralusis of the explainable type at least three times in their life. I am a parapsychologist and believe in being open minded, but some research and study will relieve some from a fearful belief that could cause more sleep related problems. So try no alcohol no naps during the day and no television before bed as well as video games. Thes are some methods of not exiting the part of the brain that will keep you awake at night and some dietary changes may also be required. Just a possibility, sometimes the simple answer is the best answer. Of course there may be spirit travel involved!!! But I would look at some of the earth bound answers first before jumping to the belief that your soul has left your body and is parading around the universe!!!!f1refly posted:9/3/2010 8:37:29 PM (Reply) Sleep Paralysis along with Lucid Dreaming or partial Lucid Dreaming without control is the cause. Experiences will vary being based more on the dream and being that you are partially awake more or less, can lead to anything like the feeling of others in your room, floating out of body...etc. Training yourself on gaining more control of Lucid Dreams can help you to alter a scary experience into something entirely different. Most intense OOBE i had, i floated above my body and i could see my apt room clearly, this "shadow" which appeared angry to my presence, swooped my direction and grabbed me, basically throwing me. I floated quickly, horizontally into my roomates room and as i passed by, i could see him laying there sleeping, cover over him, his head facing toward a wall...everything was so clear, vivid and pretty accurate to reality, Anyway, When i hit the wall, there was no pressure of impact, no pain. I could feel the drywall and the boards behind it as if my arm partially passed into it. I then very quickly was drawn back into my body as if i slammed into my body which woke me up quite abruptly. Now despite how vivid this experience was, I'm trained enough now to know that this was a mixture of Sleep paralysis and Lucid dreaming. Over the years, i can now recreate this experience more often and even alter the experience into something i more enjoy, although i don't always have full control. They can seem extremely real and vivid, often times filled with intense emotion or even euphoria based on past experiences, fond memories from childhood or a mixture of various memories from child to adulthood. I often revisit places of my childhood and alter them into something more of a joyride which i find hard to explain but their always fun and interesting.A more recent OOBE, for what ever reason i decided to take some Acid (LSD) in this "Lucid Dream Paralysis state" and oddly enough, my LSD trip while dreaming was very much how i remembered it from my youth only more amplified to my liking....amazing how vivid memories can be and how your brain can play on them to stage an experience more real than day dreaming. However most inexperienced people tend to percieve such an experience into a variety of different ways, sometimes believing, perhaps just wanting to believe, that something paranormal happened.gemini663181 posted:9/4/2010 2:39:45 PM (Reply)One thing for sure is that the ancient technics like those learned by Carlos Casteneda are a great method of learning to control the ability to travel through astral prjection and control of lucid dreams!! Yaqui indian sorcery will and can teach many technics for safe and aware dream travel. And the movement of the assemblage point technic for projecting ones inner self any where in the universe at will.macros72 posted:9/5/2010 6:55:23 AM (Reply)Sorry guys if the following is just dreams but they seem very real and very clear which i believe are OOBE.I remember a " very real dream" where i was trying to leave the bedroom and had an hard time trying to open the bedroom door - i just couldnt use the door handle. I managed it somehow and then i moved off outside with a rush. I found i was sat behind some boxes looking towards a large square opening. I could hear the birds singing and the sound of two voices approaching. As i sat behind these boxes these two guys came carrying more boxes. They where joking about something and began loading what now dawned on me was a van. I suddenly thought "this is real!", panicked and woke up in bed with a jump! Many times I become aware in my dreams and always feel a sense of freedom and joy. I then go around flying :) often moving away from what ever i was dreaming. Sometimes as i fly around i feel so happy that i try shouting to the odd fellow i see walking around but they never hear me. The houses, roads etc sometimes seem slightly different to the waking world which puzzles me(some of them seem brighter or cleaner). Sometimes I see buildings that arnt supposed to be there etc. On one occasion i met another person who could see/hear me. He too began to fly but remained near his house we chatted but cant remember much. I once had a scary experience where i could hear an old man whistling near me but I couldnt see him. He seemed to follow me like a ghost. After having such real dreams i either wake up with a jump or just open my eyes the moment the dream ends. Please log in or become a member to add a post.
