There seems to be a lot of drama in the paranormal field .There also a lot of distrust with a lot of the researcher in this field. Some people that have been in this field for 20+ years, seem to get along with just about anyone and try to help these teams grow .When I started CNHPS we were a nobody team from NH, as we started to get more case drama would follow right behind us. I have seen too many new teams break apart because of the drama out there in the field. Sometimes we create our own drama, that starts a waterfall effect on the team and on yourself. Why can't we just try and work together for science and for the knowledge to help the field grow.

I agree with you completely on this one. Everyone I've talked to in the paranormal field say the same thing straight off the bat: why the drama? All I can think of is that paranormal groups attract a certain type of person, perhaps?

Most of the drama that I have seen usually comes from people that go into the whole thing for the wrong reasons. Be it an individual or a group. I think the reality tv generation has allot to do with it. Since the explosive popularity of all the ghost hunting shows on TV there have been allot of flakes getting involved in the whole thing. With flakes you get drama.

I think you hit the nail on the head there. It's the reality TV generation and the never ending ghost hunting and now alien hunting shows on TV.

I have moved a couple of times and have been with several groups. I would have to say that Lincoln has it mostly nailed down. Every group I've been with, except a couple, have been Paranormal State/Ghost Hunters/Ghost Adventures wannabes. I usually didn't get involved in the drama, I was there for the evidence not just for the thrill of the chase as the saying goes.
These individuals don't realize the damage that they do when they act like such in front of people that feel that there really is a problem and they want help.
