I'm wondering if the afterlife uses the 'O Brother, Where Out Thou?' soundtrack in the elevator for new entrants.

My guess is the soundtrack changes depending on way direction its traveling lol

Jeff,It might, but probably only in the elevators leading social workers offices who got their positions because they committed suicide to end their physical life. LOL

I know this is an old post from 08" but I figured with 2012 here and all with all the hype goin on about "the end of the world coming" it was a good place to post this question. I used to really believe that the end of the world, or at least a very significant event would take place around this time. But now, with the whole world waiting for it, and with media pushing it down our throats, I find myself doubting whole heartedly... How weird is that? I mean, I guess I am just wondering what everyone else thinks? There are so many different theories and prophesies... Its hard not to believe something will happen, right?

I used to be all hyped-up about it, too. Now, although there is an awful lot of stuff going on that seems to be abnormal, I`m not so sure, myself. Guess we`ll just have to wait and see. (but I AM planning on stocking up on food and water. lol)

i have always hoped something would and will happen come 21/12/2012, but we have to remember all through time people believed the world would end in their lifetime, even John of Patmos believed it would come soon after he wrote revelations!

Well for my thoughts on the whole deal: What I am going to worry about as 2012 gets towards its close will be all the people obsessed about the doomsday prophecies, the ones that are all in with there belief in it. Those people are going to start going nuts as the day gets closer and will start doing insane things. I mean people remember a while back about the supposed Rapture. That was one religious group that went nuts over that. There were people selling all their belongings and quitting their jobs in preparation of the event. (And those were peaceful religious people)

When you get people across all walks of life (Some not so peaceful) all believing that the world is definitely going end on a certain day. That is a recipe for mass chaos.

So you know in some respects there could very well be a disaster of some proportion coming up but I think it will be a self fulfilled prophecy of human origin.

I also think there will be allot of embarrassed people when 2013 rolls around with no end of the world.

I've posted several times about my belief on 2012. I use "2012" as centralized...mean estimate of the date it would occur. But the most credible theory I found was the solar storm/ geomagnetic storm. It is backed by solid research from very credible sources.

Here is the report from the National Academy of Sciences: http://books.nap.edu/catalog.php?record_id=12507

Here is the website you can use to monitor the sun: http://www.swpc.noaa.gov/SWN/index.html
At the time of the post...all is quiet.

I tell anyone I can about it. As an analogy, Earth is essentially a trailer in tornado alley during tornado season. Sure, we might dodge it...but you certainly don't want to ignore the possibility. If anyone has an questions about it, let me know. We've already had some REALLY close calls this year. And the cycle hasn't even peaked yet.

All that 2012 hype is just that hype....it's all internet hoax.

Remember the Orsen Wells doomday video in the 1980's, then the 2000 computers will kill us all threat when they turn over to 0000, now it is the Mayan year dates. Is the third time a charm? It does sound like some group wants to leave the rest of us behine in the atomic dust bin of history.

Actually, I don't really care what Mayan's think. They don't exist anymore, so obviously, they weren't exactly the star players.

It is coincidence their calendar "rolls over" on Dec 21st 2012, near the peak of the solar cycle. I'm not worried about their calendar. It is irrelevant.

What I do worry about is the legitimate science outlining threats to our infrastructure. Even the leading 2012 skeptic site admits they can't debunk it. You can't debunk sound science.

The Y2K was, I feel, a fib spread by programmers who wanted to poke fun at people who didn't understand computers.

I can't think of a single moment in my life where we have been in more danger of complete...rebooting of society. All I can do is put the facts out there and hope you guys read it. I don't really get into the fear mongering aspect of it because I have my own family, and I understand from a provider's prospective. So who knows, hopefully nothing will happen. Either way, the facts should still be known.

the night of Sunday 5-20-2012, starting at 5:20 PDT and maxing at 6:40 PM PDT we will have a solar eclipse where the Moon will not cover the entire face of the Sun, leaving a "ring of fire" around the shadow of the Moon. If you check the sidewalks as the process is happening you will see by the shadow of the leaves form a cresant Moon pattern among the leaves. If later that night Israel does Iran, then in a few days there will be a "ring of fire" around the Earth. As in the Heavens, so on Earth. So mote it be.

Israel continues to pass up the best dates possible as regards to when to enact an attack against Iran's atomic sites. The last time these kinds of rumours were flying about was during the May 2008 campaign by then hopeful Republican candidate John McCain. Is all this just a way to raise funds during our American election years?

I wouldn't mind being part of that group.

No it's just a way to jack up oil prices.
