Recently some people discovered what appeared to be a locked ftp image archive associated with NASA, however it was allowing the public to enter and see the images. Several pictures got out and were posted on a few places online. These images ranged from close ups of the Hubble telescope, to images of the Earth's atmosphere with objects (space debris?) present.Jeff emailed them and found out that it was actualy meant to be a public archive. Links to the images themselves won't work because they are rearranging or deleting photos randomly. Jeff, Aether and I found some interesting photos and there are probably more waiting for someone to find them. Apparently whoever authorized the release of these images didn't look closely enough because there are some serious anomolies present in some of these images.Some of the better images we've found:1: Shows an odd streak of light. Look at the object to the top right. It is most likely a satellite of some sort, but it definetly looks saucer-shaped. The lighting is also weird on it.http://img851.imageshack.us/img851/1662/ufo.png

 A few new ones.First, a few more with anomolies:-The atmosphere just looks wrong here. There are odd bursts of light and the coloration is weird. There appears to be a round object above the horizon, at the top of the image that is far too small to be the moon. Also, I was told that many of the images only remain up there for 24 hours. LOL. So uh, might be something you should check daily.

 That's going to make it difficult to find the good ones then. If they see anything that might bring up some controversy you can guarantee it won't last more than one day. Yes, all images are (c) Image Science & Analysis Laboratory, NASA Johnson Space Center.  I ran most of these images through an jpeg analysis tool. All of them come up as "edited. The one with the boomerang ufo gives these results.http://img585.imageshack.us/img585/7619/result1.pnghttp://img534.imageshack.us/img534/5656/result2r.pngFrom what I can tell from the information on the Jpegtool's site, these results indicate that the image could have been filmed with a Casio, Pentax, or Sigma brand camera. It could have been viewed or edited in any of the programs/tools listed below the cameras.It may have been opened/viewed/edited in any of the listed programs in the 2nd section of the screenshot. The common art programs GIMP and Paint.net are in the list. Lastly, we have an assessment made by the program. This program claims that the image has been processed/edited. All of the images from the nasa archive that I ran through this program yeilded similar results. What does it all mean? I don't know, but I think it's safe to assume that these are not raw  or original images. Some editing has been done to these pictures. It could range from simply cropping the image, to bluring or covering up something that we weren't meant to see.

I didn't browse each and every picture, but the ones I did see were all very scientifically sound.  Satellites (used for GPS and TV and Cell) are not put into outer space!  They are still within the realm of our atmosphere.  Granted, it is very thin, but its still ours.  The streaks of light are very common!  Any chunk of ice/rock that gets low enough to be level with our satellites will begin to be incinerated from friction.  Look up at the night sky, I gurantee if you wait for an hour or so you'll see one happen.  I'm guessing that satellites are programmed to photograph/report any anomoly out of self-preservation.  They are fragile things, and being smashed by debris can cost many millions of dollars.Also, the discoloration is clearly the aurora.  A daily event in the upper atmosphere.  Its always there, always glowing, and can really mess with our technology.  The aurora isn't always pretty blue ribbons like in disney movies.  Sometimes its just a glow or a pulse.This one really caught my eye:  http://img9.imageshack.us/img9/5636/efshighressts056sts0567.jpgI don't know what it is.  It is clearly not a land mass.  And, assuming it is at the highest conievable point for life, it is a huge object.  I mean HUGE.  Birds can only fly so far before they start asphixiating.  Whatever that is looks to be over a mile across.  And being a mile across (minimum), It shouldn't even be flying.  There is nothing on this planet that large that can fly.Also, I don't know about the editing.  I don't know how it works or why they would do it.  Maybe for archiving reasons?  Hiding lines of code in the picture itself so it can be better organized?  Beats me.  But I do know one thing.  Governments love to crop and smear and fudge the details.

 I agree with you. The boomerang shaped thing is by far the most interesting thing we've found.  There is no life that large or that high up (unless you believe in atmospheric beasts, but they should be transparent), and no plane would be that large or in that shape. The only option is that it is a ufo or they marked something out in black in that area. They need to explain this picture.
