Speaking of strange weather

When I was about thirteen I saw a massive cloud rotation high above my house. It looked a football field sized invisable cylinder was gathering clouds around it and slowly pulling them apart as it slowly turned horizontally to the ground.
I've seen tornadoes, dust devils, and have been in a few hurricanes. This was nothing like that.It eventually disappeared from the sky but not from my memory.
Some years earlier when I was about nine years old my family and I were sitting in our living room waiting for a thunderstorm to pass when a basketball sized yellowish orange electrified ball suddenly appeared in the middle of the room floated about for a few moments then flew under my uncle's chair as he was leaning against the wall. It knocked him out of his chair and disappeared into a wall outlet. I am assuming this was ball lightning. I wonder if any one else has seen similar weather anomalies. Ray

I hope your uncle was OK after that experience. If he was then you and your family should consider yourselves among a lucky few. Ball lighting is so rare the odds of actually being able to witness it first hand are greater then winning the lottery.

If anyone has any real pictures or footage of ball lightning I would love to see them.

He died many years later, but not from his encounter with lightning ball.
