Hmmmmm...gary107 posted:7/14/2013 7:49:10 AM (Reply)Welcome to old age, next you will enter a room and think for a minute or two trying to remember why you went/came there. Many joys ahead for JaxerB. Be courteous there are still lots of the little folks in the lands where you report to be.Jaxerback posted:7/14/2013 3:02:29 PM (Reply)What was so special about the constellation of Orion and the dog star Sirius to our ancestors? http://www.ancient-code.com/orion-more-than-a-constellation/LincolnGenghis posted:7/15/2013 8:17:01 AM (Reply)Finally something that has nothing to do with the Kennedys or Kaiser shipbuilding. :)bobprin posted:7/15/2013 1:47:33 PM (Reply)Orion, other that ursa major is the most spectacular constellation in the skies. I believe that when the ancient aliens came it was from somewhere in orion they came from. The uncanny resemblance of orion and the layout of the egyptian pryamids is probably not a coincidence. When the pryamids of south america are all finally discovered there will probably be a correlation with orion or another constellation also. All the better to give further proof of ancient alien involvement with man on this planet.Jaxerback posted:7/15/2013 8:40:45 PM (Reply)Two stars..whohooo!! I think the ancients were captivated by Orions belt simply because it appeared straight(ish),hence the slight deviation of the pyramids layout. Personally speaking I think the ancient alien theory is just too outlandish to be credible.Give our ancestors some credit. They had as much grey matter in their skulls as we have today...(neanderthals arguably had more). Gary is a perfect example....just kidding 107.LincolnGenghis posted:7/15/2013 9:25:26 PM (Reply)Well the one thing allot of people do not realize is what the sky really looked like back then. We have so much light pollution worldwide (Yes that is a real term) that nobody is really seeing the sky the way it really was in those days. Orion would have looked brilliant and everyone would have been fascinated by it . All the stars in general were viewed in awe. They were used for navigation keeping track of time ect.. It would be well within reason that there could have been many tales made up about them. I am not trying to discount the alien angle but everything should be factored in on the matter to arrive at a more solid conclusion on the whole thing. Jaxerback posted:7/15/2013 10:08:32 PM (Reply)no light pollution in rural Ireland...the nearest town is 30 km away..stars are cool!! bobprin posted:7/16/2013 6:01:54 AM (Reply)How strange our planet must look from space. Why do we need light to see by at night? It would seem that a living organism which spends half of its existance in darkness would not need any artifical means to hunt or defend itself. Our lights we use at night are like a flashing neon sign to any outside observer.gary107 posted:7/16/2013 8:45:23 AM (Reply)they are discovering more about fire in low gravity. Materials burn in a different manner out there in space, new techniques to manufacturing coming our way? Big improvements? Our Earth "turns" on and off or appears to do so at a certain great distance when looking back at it. Maybe something about this planet or materials in "empty space" between the observer and this world. Space may prove not to be so "empty." What is seen in rural areas is missed by city dwellers here in America. Orion seemed meaningful from an early age, perhaps the three large stars in a box type shape. First nation folk used one of those stars to test the eyesight of their children. One is a binary star system that can be seen as two stars by those with good enough sight. African tribes that moved east into the Nile river valley claim their people first came from a star in Orion. Sirius [dog star] can be seen in Egypt near the time to bring in the crops. Are they distancing their families? I knew an O'Grady.gary107 posted:7/17/2013 1:18:32 AM (Reply)If a slow traveling [relatively speaking] fleet of space ships happen on Earth and the lights were all turned out, would they assume no one was home and just travel on?Jaxerback posted:7/17/2013 8:10:38 PM (Reply)How can all the lights be turned out?Mr O'Grady turned out the lights locked the doors and pulled the curtains when he thought you would be calling. And I can't say that I could blame him. In 565 AD,in what is now called Scotland,St Columba supposedly encountered a huge unknown creature in loch Ness. He was bringing Christianity to the Picts. Strange.LincolnGenghis posted:7/17/2013 9:16:50 PM (Reply)So did this O'Grady guy smell like anchovies after being with some of the fish folks? and how does he factor into the whole thing. You know my Grandmother once told me that if there was kid born with red hair it was a sure sign that there was a pig under the bed. I am still trying to figure that one out. I had red hair! was it an insult? I will never know :) she did like a nip of whiskey now and then. Please log in or become a member to add a post.
