Aobut the time I turned 8, I started to have the most terifying dreams of being judged by hooded figures. I would wake up screaming, sobbing, the usual. As I grew into my teens, these dreams bacame more elaborate and included the hooded figures actually punishing me after having judged me guilty. (I never was told what I was guilty of.) The punishments inculded all manner of horrible tortures, and during this phase of my dream life, I could still feel the pain after waking. These dreams have diminished over the years and I rarely have them any more. ( I am 43 now) when I do have one now it affects me very little compare to my teen years. I used to view these dreams as having been caused by external, supernatural sources. I have since come to believe that they are natural in origin, and internal for the most part. I do tend to incorporate real world sounds into my dream life. For example, if the phone rings while I am sleeping, I am more likely to dream of a ringing phone than to wake up because of it. I have had a few occasions where I am fairly certain other noises have brought on a night terror for me. One of the things that changed my views on the cause of this is that i realized it all started when I was eight, the same year that my parents got a divorce. It was very ugly and me and my brother became weapons for our parents to use against each other. I guess that explains it pretty well.

Overall, what do you think had more meaning in your life, the hooded judgmental figures, or your parent's divorce? I'm assuming you interpret the whole incident as somehow feeling at a young age as if your parent's divorce was caused by you, and that the hooded figures was a depiction of this "ringing telephone." It could be, however, an interpretation caused by someone reading to you from a dream dictionary. Can you make up a more powerful meaning, or is the affect the divorce had on you as powerful as it can get?

I don't pay any attention to dream dictionaries. This was a personal insight. The divorce thing is the single most powerful negative event in my life. A pebble in the pond, so to speak, and there are still ripples to this day. It was more than just the natural inclination of a kid to feel guilty over his parents split-up. The divorce, and the years leading up to it were about as nasty as it coud get. Physical blows and verbal abuse of the worst sort passed between every single member of our family. There was so much anger and hatred in our home, even years after the divorce was final. I believe it warped my ability to relate to other people for a large part of my life. Some twenty five years after the event, my father had a stroke and languishd for a year in a nursing home before he died. My mother told he she was glad he was dead. After twenty five years she said that. I tell you all this so you will understand it was more that just the average feelings of guilt about the divorce. A few times the judges removed thier hoods and they were my family. Other times they turned out to be close friends. Usually they stayed hooded. I have other bizarre & terrifying dreams, sometimes they do not even make sense and are not intrinsicly terrifying, yet they are frightening in the dream state for some reason. The judges dream is the most common and has stuck with me all these years. I have these dreams realtively rarely now, although sometimes they will come in batches, like every night for a few weeks at a time, then monthes of peace. The ringing phone is just an example of how I will often incorporate real sounds into my dreams. It is of no significance other than someone tried to call me while I was sleeping. I once dreamt I was trying to sell some kind of stupid gadget to this guy and I woke up to find a late night info-mercial blaring on the TV. :-)

I understand your inability to relate to other people. There's a lot of pain in the paranormal community, that's for sure, always for different reasons, and always equally as meaningful to the person on the receiving end. Child abuse and troubled childhoods are common here, probably because people who have grown up in less-than-optimal circumstances are more likely to ask themselves, "What's the point?" or have shut themselves off to the world and look elsewhere, possibly to find a new one to inhabit. Because of all that pain and abuse, many have a propensity to disbelieve in the church variation of spirituality and a caring God and seek something else. Others become devout and blindly listen to the words or are more likely to join a cult. I guess it's a tossup, but at the center of both is an overwhelming sense of pain and senselessness. I know you were saying that your previous attempts at meditation did little for you, somewhere between jack and shit, and you turned to painting. How does painting bring you the meaning that meditation did not, or that's not the point of you doing your paintings?

at last..a new energy is coming to earth and that is where consciousness becomes free for all..in the mystery shools of old there has been great debate and that debate should begin something like ..is the average man safe and responsible enough to handle consciousness, the answer is yes.the world needs consciousness.it need the ancient wisdom and it needs new technologies,,the west is based on technology and masculinity, not having any respect for the consciousness of gaia and the feminine..this is finally about to change dramatically..it was not a divine plan to have supressed consciousness on earth, the plan of the spirit world is to see that this planet is filled with love and joy..the reality at the moment is that people in certain parts of this planet are starving and the only reason is because somebody is holding back the flow of energies..people who run countries should be deeply connected with the spirit and they should really know what spirit is asking of them..the prime ministers and presidents of this planet must have some form of spiritual conection, whilst the flow of energy on earth doesnt flow as it should all because of decisions made in the past and for all the wrong reasons, many many things get supressed on this planet..there are those on this planet who are manipulative with consciousness and energy and then there are those who let it happen or follow the trends and make it happen even more, then there are those who dont have enough energy to be able to see the truth of what is going on ..but all this will change when we embrace this christ consciousness that is finally arriving here..2000 years ago a new consciousness arrived here,a new state of being, but it never filtered through to the masses..secret societies witheld much of the truth, suppressing the feminine aspect of this consciousness as a result causing unbalance in the world..

Great post, vict123oria...although it seems to be slightly off topic, unless you are hinting that night terrors are the result of the overemphasis on the masculine half of consciousness.

actually i just felt like writing thta..thats all..i was going to write about the chicken and the egg and laying the foundations of new world order..i would have written about secret societies of today and how they have influenced our current lives..but that would have taken me so long to write..

Hi vict123oria, I do not want to hamper your obviously free spirit, but it is a little confusing when you do this. There are forum topics for all the things you mentioned in your posts here. If you post under the correct topic, I promise I will read it, and I will probably understand it better because I will not be thinking about another topic when I read it. regards, Canis

Wouldn't a dream produced by random unintelligent brain activity be meaningless? Would it even have well drawn imagery? Would your actions match the imagery? It seems strange to me that a piece of my brain could match my actions in the dream to the imagery without thought. For example if I am scared in the dream why would that emotion be well matched with scary imagery? Also I have had dreams with a plot. For example, in one dream I set out to go somewhere and later in the dream I get there. Even that type of simple combination of thoughts would suggest that the dream was created by an intelligent being, random brain activity would produce a completely random plot with no evidence of a memory on the part of the 'dreammaker'. The matching of my actions to the imagery seems to be the most unexplainable though, is a piece of our brains genetically wired to matching the imagery with our actions in the dream? The nature of dreams is common to many people, it's not just my brain that does this. It could be that some dreams are just random unintelligent brain activity but if you read through the blogs you'll find lots of evidence for intelligent dream creation. I don't know where the intelligence I've witnessed comes from, it could be that I was just unfortunate enough to be born with a piece of my brain detached from the rest and thinking on it's own. Lot's of people seem to have witnessed dreams that match thought control to imagery though so this doesn't seem to just be happening to me. Some people believe in demons and angels. I'm going to suggest a telepathic species. It could be such a species knows how to replicate from one brain to another and survives by parasitically living off our brain tissue. Or perhaps they think with some other material than brain tissue altogether. We know that iron has the computational property of being able to store information, we use magnetic materials to store information on our harddrives. What computational properties are required to sustain intelligent thought? Could a species live in rock, surviving on heat. Water might not be the only substance capable of producing life, and there is lots of rock that has been sitting around for many years in the universe, waiting to evolve the capacity to think. There are also other phenomina altogether, we use electrical pulses in our brains to think, what other physics allow thought? Also many people believe in synthetic telepathy and mind control, are other humans playing with our heads? In truth I obviously don't know, I just know that I have witnessed intelligence that does not appear to be properly scientifically documented. I'm going to continue studying functional imaging and neural code. Consider examining your own dreams for signs of intelligence, maybe go through the first paragraph again to help you do so. Many people suffer from nightmares so it would seem that not all of the beings creating our dreams are friendly. Please consider spreading the concept of intelligence testing of dreams so this matter can be studied. Warren Harding www.telepathicsecurity.com

I think that people have night terrors due to something traumatic happening in his or her life.  I have heard of this happening more often in children.  The trauma that someone has suffered is probably embedded deep in their thoughts and don't understand how to interpret what has happened.  They don't have an understanding of these deep feelings and probably don't know how to bring those feelings to the surface.

i agree that dreams could not be random brain activity because many people can lucid dream. In a lucid dream one can have his own thoughts and can make intelligent decisions. One can even countrol the setting in which the dream takes place. So this would make it impossible to just be the random firings of electrical messages in the brain. Also the brain make new place that one has never seen, were does this info some from. Even more wierd is when in a dream one has memories that are only in the dream, like when your are in a house you have never been before but no exactly were everything is.

I believe in mind control, I have tested it on about 20 different people 30 times, I was able to control their actions and make them say the things I was thinking, at one point I even told the person I was controlling their mind, so I think that is definately real. One time it was powerful enough to the point where they had a glazed over look in their eyes. You just have to mentally and physically become that person and I also found that knowing a lot of people helps because it helps you understand different ways people think and use it against other people in a non obvious way but you can change their thoughts completely, it is a lot like a master-slave mind relationship, where your mind is the master  of the slave mind and you have complete control.

I think that maybe some one close to you was practicing a little too much witchcraft and your subconciousness picked up on the subtle thoughts of those around you and that might have cause a lot of it...

A friend of mine suffered from night terrors for years.  He did a sleep study that led doctors to the conclusion that he hadn't had a full cycle of sleep during that entire time.  During the entire sleep study he never entered the REM cycle of sleep when normal dreaming takes place.  He also began to sleep walk during these periods.  He began to do things such as make sandwiches or do laundry while sleep walking.  His doctor was never able to explain how it was that he could be having night terrors of being tortured by North Koreans and yet his body would calmly make breakfast all while in a non-REM stage of sleep.  I told him that he was probably possessed, but he never allowed me to perform an exorcism.  I don't believe that all night terrors are caused by outside influence, but I do believe it is possible that some night terrors are caused by mind control, possession, the use of witchcraft, possibly even split-personality disorder.
