The problem with South Africa we have so many cultures that alot of the stories dont reach many outside the cultural groups. A few of the more famous one can be found with a simple google search. Here are a few from ww.spitsa.co.za

HAUNTED STORIES from spitsa.co.za

Haunted story one

The house I live in was built in the late 1880's. During the Anglo-Boer War it was used as a hospital and later as a maternity home. Undoubtedly people died there and it is inevitable that some activity from a higher level should take place. Incidentally, in April 1900 the youngest brother of Vincent van Gogh the painter, Cornelius van Gogh, died here after a suicide attempt.

Late at night one can hear a gate closing and a person walking down the corridor. The gate was removed about 50/60 years ago.

So sorry, I never mentioned where I live, Brandfort, about 50km from Bloemfontein. It's too far from where you are stationed, so my ghosts are quite safe, I would not like them harmed in any way. Once at about 4am, I woke up to see a man looking at me, beautiful clear blue eyes, blond hair brushed to perfection. He lifted his right hand like pulling a trigger, made a clicking sound which was very sharp or crystal clear and moved to his left and the image faded.

I love what you are doing

David

Haunted story two

Good morning

I have lived in a duplex in the north of Johannesburg for the past 3 years.

There is definitely a spirit/soul/ghost presence on the staircase.

At least this is where we notice it.

There is clearly proof of extreme previous violence in the duplex with probably only

a couple of doors that have not been punched in and there is a mended bullet hole

in the front door!

Occasionally on the ground floor there is a sudden but brief scent, which is both familiar and yet unfamiliar.

Recently my partner's twin stayed with us and during the day he went into the lounge

to see a "shape" like a woman sitting there. She disappeared. I have not experienced this.

The strange thing is that we feel no threat whatsoever and in fact it is almost as though

we are being protected.

For this reason I would not permit any interference from outside.

Just thought you may find it of some interest.

One thing I did not tell you is that we have a dog and she is totally unphased with the happenings. Her toys are sometimes moved around and it does not seem to trouble her...

Haunted Story 3

SPITSA Team

My name is Ryan, I am from JHB! I sent in a story that I thought you might find interesting. It's been bugging me for sometime now, and much to my surprise, I only discovered SPITSA last night after reading an article on news24! I hope you will read this with an open mind. So here goes

Last year around this time I was living in centurion, Lyttleton with a good friend of mine.
We lived in a commune and worked together at patron's pub. One night walking home from a late night shift, around 3am we were passing Centurion high school in Lyttleton, which was just up the road from where we lived. We were walking on the side path next to the schools perimeter, my friend Jason stopped to light us a smoke, while the both of us were standing there we heard a shout, I couldn't make out what I heard but I knew it was a woman's voice. And knowing where it came from we stuck our heads through the concrete pillars of the schools perimeter to make out what we heard. While standing there looking in suspense a girl ran passed our view (inside the school grounds) I called at her to come to where we were standing, obviously I wanted to know if she was ok! She stopped and came towards us with this horrified look on her face (in school uniform) note this had to be thee most gorgeous woman I had seen, (to beautiful to be alive) hahaha! Don't mind me, I find this funny, but creepy! Anyway, my friend Jason asked her if it was her screaming, it sounded like she was answering him, but only in a foreign tongue. Then I asked her what she was doing in the school, and if she was alone? To my surprise, she had told me that SHE WAS WAITING FOR HER PARENTS!! Now come-on, waiting for her parents at a school at that time? 3am? Not really taking notice or finding anything odd about what she told us, she asked for a smoke, as my friend proceeded to hand it to her, snap!! She was gone!! I am telling you. I broke the sound barrier, on foot.

The interesting part of my story is. The very next day, at work, my friend and myself were chatting to our boss. And happened to mention about the previous nights ordeal! He said to us that about a year ago, from that time, a girl was murdered in the school grounds whilst waiting for her parents!

I don't know what you make of that, but to me that aint normal!!

If this is of any interest to you, I hope you and the rest of the team will be successful in finding something!

Hope to hear from anyone regarding my story

thanks

Haunted Story 4

My name is Hailey Bruno

Let me just fill you in. I started being able to see spirits when I was around 12 years old. At that age, I couldn't believe that they were real, so I ignored it for a few years. When I was about 15, I realized that they were trying to communicate with me. We had two small children in our farm house but no one could see them but me. My mom also experienced things in the house moving, falling off tables and appliances switching on and off. Especially the radio. We would hear footsteps through the house very often. We lived in that house for four years and I, for some reason, could never sleep in my own room. In 2003 we moved to Pretoria.

Since we moved, I started to grasp that I was the only one in our family who could see spirits without the use of any equipment. I think its a gift and I love having it.
In our current house, close to menlyn, I've experienced many sightings but they don't try communicate with me anymore. Is it possible that they just want to be recognised? After I see a particular spirit, I don't see her/him again. Except in three cases.

The first: a small blonde boy walked down our passage, looked at me then carried on walking. The next night, he walked from the opposite direction he had come from the previous night, he stopped, looked at me, smiled and walked away. I smiled back and I never saw him again.

The second: a group of spirits. I couldn't see them, they all had different coloured auras. I think thats what i saw in the form of very muted different coloured lights. I addressed them individually and kept seeing them until I addressed them as a group, then never saw them again.

The third: I call her my guardian angel. She is relatively tall, with wavy dark hair and big brown eyes. I see her almost every night. She never comes into my room but always stands against my door post and rests her head. She doesn't communicate with me at all. She just watches over me.

I have only had one negative experience. It was the middle of summer possibly 34C during the day. I went to bed that evening, and something pushed down extremely hard on my chest and neck. It pushed me deep into the bed then let go. It felt like I was suffocating. The room dropped in temperature by about 10 degrees Celcius. The room went from a hot summers evening temperature to a mid winter temperature. I'll never forget that feeling.

I've thought many times that I was/am crazy, but I don't think so. They come to me for a reason. I just wish I knew what it was. If you have any advice or any thing you can share with me, PLEASE reply to this. I would love to hear your take on my stories. It would mean the world to me!

Many Thanks
Hailey Bruno

A couple of things, like the time I was working a film extra at the Castle out in Cape Town and I had to walk through this pond and i kept feeling like somebody was grabbing at my legs. And there was an occasion when i went hiking with a buddy up Table Mountain and saw somebody fall off a ledge maybe 200 meters infront of us, when we got to the spot there was nothing. No blood, nothing. Turns out that allot of people hve fallen or jumped off of that spot
