This was sent to me recently as well: www.montauk-monster.com/On April 20 this year, Alan Varley From St Helens Merseyside England UK, reported, “While in Canada visiting relatives we were walking by Lac St Louis in Beaconsfield on the outskirts of Montreal “We came across this dead creature – not knowing what it was, I searched the internet and came upon your website.” Pretty gross, but whatever. Click the link and enjoy :)

The first photo looks like a dachshund that has been dead and in the water for a good bit. Poor little fella.

Always tough to tell what something is in an advanced stage of decomposition.  Unless you are a zoologist or a hunter/tracker with experience with the native fauna it's impossible to be certain.  I would go with opposum or maybe groundhog.

This has been proven to be a racoon carcass, the end solved.
