There would be nothing anybody amongst us could do different to change it if that is true anyway so just enjoy life do the best that you can with it. be good to people and if the day comes in your lifetime you can hold your head high and say I did the best that I could with no regrets. And always make sure to die with your boots on.

Well I am not sure if anybody here has seen the show Doomsday Preppers before or knows what it is but it just made me at first laugh , then I shook my head after that , then I started getting concerned for the kids involved in the whole thing. After watching two episodes I just stopped watching it myself. Basically these survivalists that they profile spend 5, 10, 15 , 20 years preparing for Armageddon and these people come in and film and interview them and then rate how prepared they are for the end of the world for survival purposes. On the two episodes that I actually watched what really started to draw my attention away from the main story was some of the kids of the families being profiled. It was nuts there are only a few places in my lifetime that I have seen dead pan looking eyes like that and it should not be in kids.

So basically in the two episodes I saw the experts rated their preparedness and on average gave them around 1 year
given their supplies. ???????? WTF ... so these people spend years doing elaborate survival things dragging their whole family into the thing just so they might actually survive one extra year at the end of the world that may never come in our lifetimes. They don't live life really so what is the point of the whole thing. Basically what they are doing is screwing their kids out of actually enjoying life or having any kind of normal childhood. (Never stray to far away from the bunker kids you never know when the end will come)

And don't get me wrong about some things , there are enough regional survivable disasters that happen where everyone should have about a one to two week supply of non perishable food, dry or canned, drinkable water, and some cash on hand not to mention a full tank of gas in the car at all times. This is coming from someone that was stuck in the huge blackout that happened some years back that hit the north eastern portions of the US. I was living in the Detroit MI area at the time. Ahh gas pumps are electronic now and will not work, people would not take checks or plastic for anything, it was cash only. you can't withdraw money from a bank that has no power. Ohh and the water thing has to do with the water treatment plants that spit out the city water . No power = no clean drinking water. In a pinch you could use it if you boiled it and/or put some water treatment tablets in it but to boil it you would need to cook it over a fire if you have no power. I totally perfected my grilling skills for that week and a half. LOL

That is what turned me into a grill master. Had plenty of charcoal and wood on hand.

Ohh and modern day gas siphoning out of cars is also a good skill to have. the newer ones have screen on them that you have to punch out that is a ways down the throat of the fill hole to get the tube in there. Did I just say that???? I should shut my my mouth now.

Ahh needless to say everybody should also have a locking gas
cap on their car also. That will keep the amateurs out they will look for the next car.

I know... Wiki... But scroll to see the "2012 In Other Calendars" in a right sidebar. Add to that the fact that there are other special dates beyond our "2012" in the perpetually spinning calendar, and all you'll probably worry about is another hoax and/or personal existentialist musings. Me? I'm gonna party like it's 1984. Hardy har.

It seems as though the sky lately has something interesting every night...WHY IS THERE SO MANY PEOPLE WHO LOOK BEYOND ALL THESE STRANGE EPISODES WITH NOT EVEN A SMALL AMOUNT OF INTEREST TO EVEN TAKE 5 MINUTES OF THIER TIME TO LOOK INTO ANY OF IT...I DONT UNDERSTAND WHY IT SEEMS AS THOUGH IM ALONE WHEN IT COMES TO FAMILY AND FRIENDS..IT FEELS SO HOPELESS TRYING TO GET THEM TO UNDERSTAND WHATS HAPPENING!!! OR AM I JUST LOOSING MY MIND?

spatino..your deffinately not alone that. I tend to think im goin crazy sometimes cuz my friends think i am. I been researching in books and in the bible bout the signs and it says that one of the last signs is the trumpets in the sky. I believe our times coming sooner than we think if not 2012 then next year.

it may not be the end of the world but we should prepare for something big that will rock this world as we know

its all BS. there is nothing that is going to happen. Our earth and universe are just going through NATURAL cycles. The solar flares- we already knew they were going to happen, they are not going to cause any catastrophic damage. Think about this, the only reason that we are so aware of all of the things going on in the world is because of the media. If it were like the year 1600 or something we wouldnt know about an earthquake in Japan, or a Tsunami in Indonesia. We would just be carrying on with our normal lives. As far as the Mayan calendar, Archaeologists have already found a new Mayan site with markings on the wall talking about the end of the world being at a way later time then Dec. 21 2012.so its obvious that these different Mayan civilizations didnt even have communication with eachother. They just built a religion for themselves.

i agree there is too much hype and media crap. For me however, I had the number 2012 in red flashing lights in my head since i was a kid. It caused me to look it up when I got my first computer at 17. There was only 1 site for it at the time. It tripped me out. Since then I was ridiculed if I brought it up. No one knew or cared. So I stopped trying to share it. Then I start hearing it outside my head. More and more and more. I had people saying "do you know about the Mayan prophecy?" I just smiled. I can share now. And I can help people from freakin' out. Many go to extremes out of fear. Its new to them. Im glad I went through that already. I don't know what it is, but its already here. Either way... Lets have some fuckin' fun.

I think most sane and credible scientists, especially ones that have studied climate change and astronomy/upper atmospheric effects, would say we will be royally #@%&ed if we dont come up with a plan soon. Read up on NOAA, SWPC, NASA and the National Academy of Sciences. It isn't lunacy. Familiarity doesn't imply understanding. The unfamiliar doesn't imply a misunderstanding. Quote me on that.

Besides, even if there was a 1% chance of being eliminated, it is still worth researching a little.
