So what is this? Someone decided that LaVey's Satanism wasn't good enough and had to do an internet offshoot? Should there not be a thread for witches? I mean Wicca, Paganism and Neo-Paganism are the fastest growing religions in the states if not the world.

Luciferianism is most often associated with freemasonry in which Lucifer is consider man's beneficiary. He is praised for giving man the ability to reason (Eat fruit from the tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil) instead of having man's morality handed to him by a higher power. Man grows up and leaves the house of his father to make his own rules, eventually. This is the spiritual variation of graduating from high school.

In other words we choose evil over good or good evil? We make our own destiny. I how ever when I read "Luciferianism" I thought you were talking of santanism. In which I don't believe or should I say dont like. For the simple fact that this a hole (lucifer) is nothing but a "a hole" and should stay in the under ground where he it belongs.

All things are dark and light!!! There is a universal balance that has always existed. Some people say black majick ,some say white majick, some even say grey majick!!! All things are mixed and balanced. The problem is when things become unbalanced. The story of lucifer in the garden is a story of what happens when a being listens to someone who guides them toward inbalance!!! He was and is a being of beauty and wisdom!!! The fact that he fell from grace is what really counts. In that fall he became the most hated of all things, and all that followed him became hated as well. We should all remember that a fall from grace is so easy to fall into. It is perfection that is so elusive for mankind!!! I wonder what people will worship in desperation!!! But anything is better than worshiping man!!! I choose to worship GOD!!!! I hope others will see the same wisdom that I have seen.

Could you be more specific?  Which GOD do you think we should worship?  Odin? Apollo? Quetzalcoatl? Regards, Canis

I did not recommend any GOD for you to worship!!!!! It is your choice!! Once you have made your choice it is final!! You may change your religion ,but you and I are held to the choice that we make. I have went with who I believe is what we call the winning team!! I will not change my beliefs at this stage in my life I have witnessed far too much to change now. I hope you have  made the choice that suits you! I would never try to tell anyone who they should pray to. So enjoy your relationship with whoever you have chosen as your higher spirit!!! As I enjoy my GOD to the fullest!!

Wow! What emotions we have here about this. But of course just the word lucifer will cause many emotions to many people. And why not. A fallen angel, maybe, maybe not.. But whos to really say who or what lucifer really is. Do any of us have any true facts but what we were told to believe or want to believe. But of course there are those like me that believe good and bad. Gemini is so right in saying that things are light and dark. That things need to have balance. And that it is so easy to fall from grace. To perfect ones thoughts and their life is harder to do and keep doing it is what takes great strength and faith. To be perfect is only for God but to be God like is next to perfect. Lucifer who? Not in my mind body and soul. He is nothing to me but some thing that man may have made up. God however is all and is in everything. He is even in the darkness.

This discussion is starting to remind me of a book I read by a guy named Konstantinos called Nocturnal Witchcraft.  In it he says that everything can be balanced on a scale of Good to Bad, but also on a scale of Light to Dark.  He says Light does not always equate to Good just as Dark does not always equate to Evil.  He gives an example of a corrupt Evangelist as being someone who is Light, but Evil.  They preach goodness and are welcomed by the public, yet their only motivation is to take money from the weak willed and those seeking a path for their faith.  The counter being someone like myself, and I'm sure plenty of you all, who dresses funny, studies strange things, and doesn't fit the mainstream imagine of what a good person is.  I am a Dark person, but do Good things.

True, true, true....Evil sometimes wears white. So little is known about religion by most people that it's really hard to read this thread without cringing. It winds up being this "I know" because I know..opinion fight. A pole done by the national news last week showed that Athiests, on average, know more about religion than any other group. Too funny.

Very true.  It is why I joined a Unitarian church.  I didn't think any God or gods would wish me to be worshipping them out of ignorance.  Too many people don't think they should study religion, both their religion and the other major religions, before coming to a conclusion on what they believe is the Truth.

I add to that statement one last thing.  Blind faith is not faith, it is ignorance.  Only through knowledge of everything can a person find enlightenment.

I totally agree. I'm happy if I'm the only one who believes the way I do...I do not need to be part of some large group to feel 'safer' or more right. Faith is another one of those words that is currently SO abused, just like the words Hero, and Love.

You said it godlypunk, aslong as you are comfortable in what you believe, thats all you can ask for. I guess i would be in a weird group. I would call myself a... new age muslim? something around that. I know that if i was in an arabic country i would most likely be frowned apon and called a heretic or some other name people call outsiders. On the topic of God, i really never understood why the one creator needs prayer and constant thanks and asking for him/her/it to help us. I thank god by living a good life (the best i can) and sharing love. Anyone connection with god i believe should be personal. I dont need a big church or mosque full of people following each other to tell me what to do, say, eat, live. The choice is mine as it is yours! Peace

My take on the God - Lucifer story. Lucifer fell from grace because his father (God) was imperfect in as much as he favored one child (man) over another (angels). Lucifer was hurt and angry, as most children would be and rebelled. Now, neither can forgive the other.I believe there is a grain of truth to this story. Not in any particularly religeous context but as a remembering of higher beings fighting amongst themselves, with us, the newly evolved humans being asked to take sides at a time when we were barely able to make fire. Personally I can't follow a "God" as flawed as the one in the various Jewish, Christian and Muslim texts. I want my god to be either a little more perfect or above emotion entirely and simply be the One/many who helped us to become the wonderful and dangerous beings we have become. Jesus tried to teach this I think, in his way, but people have taken his words and twisted them for their own benefit, as always happens. We don't need a God to teach us what is right and wrong, if we live in the world and are concious of how we fit into it, we will learn what is good, that which benefits the planet and all of its creatures the most, or what is bad, that which benefits only ourselves. As of now, even with all of the God/Gods that inhabit our psyches there is still much more bad in the world. It is a puzzlement.

From what I know, Lucifer was supposed to be the Angel of light and sound. So if I was so adept and slaving away working in that field for all of Heaven....bringing everyone TV, radio, electricity, making everyone's spaceships all posh, and Jehovah comes along and says, "Hey, by the way, I just created these humans (sure they are at a stage of scratching their behinds and sniffing their finger) but they like above you guys now". I'd be ticked off too.  I wonder if their wasn't a two fold thing going on regarding the Bible. If you look through the Old Testament, Jehovah looks like a pompous ass. A self important, self consumed, self congratulating, jerk. Jesus, on the other hand was nothing like that. Makes you wonder if his daddy really was Jehovah. I wonder if two things got mushed together when they really were separate. Just a thought.

There was never a reference to God and Lucifer being father and son. The closest modern day correlation would be more corporate than it would be family oriented. Though I guess you are going with the God created everything idea. I definately agree that no book should be required to tell you what is right and what is wrong. If you need one then you are already hopeless in my opinion.

I study on a lot of religions and spiritual things. What I found and believe is that there is good and bad. Light and dark. There is a creator and there is a soul in all of us and of all creation. To believe is with in all of us,if we choose. And how we choose to believe is our choice. Also how we choose to pray or worship. I truely believe that we don't need temples or churches to pray and worship the creator we choose to believe in. No matter where you are or who you are with, you can pray and worship and still be one with the creator you choose. I have nothing agianst the ones who choose to believe the dark but wish they would rethink about it. I,however am a light person and believe that all living things have a spirit and are connected to the creator. And we dont need to go to "church" to pray. You can do it any where. You'r relationship and prayers are between you and the creator. Not the preacher or priest you confess your sins to and pray in  the church. As for lucifer, devil, evil spirits ect... yes I believe they are here  and was put here to test our faith. If people that believe in the dark brought them here or they found door ways ect...I don't know but they do excist.I truley believe that GOOD will conqure Evil in the end!!!
