Can anyone tell me why this fruit is symblolic of knowledge ?.  It maybe of of no surprise that one of the biggest computer company's uses it as a logo...It is steeped in mysticism and folklore, not just from the bible but local folklore. Snow white for instance was tempted by a shiny apple, her desires led to her downfall at the hands of the wicked witch....Much the same in the biblical tale of Eve, who herself was tempted..The romans brought it to the shores of England when they invaded us..So it was local to somewhere else..The seeds being which represent seeds of knowlegde and enlightenment but why the apple..? any ideas ?

Monica,  I think that maybe the symbolic referance came from the knowledge of certain elements inside the apple.  (Read my reply on Levitation on mono-atomic gold)  "An apple a day keeps the doctor away"   I believe all evidence of this may be erased.  I know we have all ate apples and we probably didn't feel no different.  Well,  We also have to take into consideration where the apple came from and from what seed it was produced.  These companies and illuminati have purposely taken these things away from us.  They are genetically manipulating these seeds to excrete the poison which kills or deters the predator.  Also they have made them so that the plant is sterile and will not produce offspring.  Anyone that has not watched Food Inc.  the movie I highly suggest it.  but,  This is not proven it is only what I think.  Hope I could help monica,  Keep on pluggin at this!    {Gives monica a shiny Granny Smith)

I almost forgot.  In case noone has seen two of the most recent accomplishments they have in the genetic manipulation catagory.  Check out these links. http://www.popsci.com/technology/article/2011-08/naturally-occurring-preservative-could-give-fresh-meats-three-year-shelf-lifehttp://www.popsci.com/science/article/2011-08/new-drug-can-treat-almost-any-viral-infection-cold-flu-killing-infected-cells

I read somewhere that at some point the tree of life was replaced with the apple.I don't know why.

Apples were great for keeping teeth clean, and they're mostly red - the color of blood (before it coagulates, duh), and royalty, and revolution..... And I think, a symbol of "you just lost the game".  :Cue Twilight Zone music:

Interesting fact number 348: To make a sour apple taste sweet, add a sprinkle of salt.

Next part to this apple thread....I have pondered this because growing an apple is not as easy as one may think....You cannot plant an apple pip and expect to get the apple from which it came..The apple seed if planted and left would bear fruit but not the apple you have eaten, it would return to type and become whats known as crab apple,   To get an apple that one would buy in shop can not be acheived without some form of intervention..For instance...to get an apple that is delicious two different types have to be spliced together at about a year old....you have the main trunk...and the sappling which is then splice on and bound together so it fuses will produce the apple fom the spliced variety ...hybridised..similar to that of a mule, the mule is sterile..So infact the humble apple isnt as simple as one might think..More to follow..

Interesting Monica,  I have a little knowledge in this area being that my family used to own over 1000 acres of orange trees to sell to tropicana and places like kraft.  What you are speaking of is called "grafting".  You know if it makes a crab apple then maybe that is the true form meant for us to eat.  I think the sterility of these is on purpose.  Thank you elites for the NAFTA which put my families business  out of business.  Oh yeah clinton,  YOU SUCK!

The apple has long being associtaed with immortality, as shown exemplified in the role of tempting of adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. The mystical island of Avalon, of which is now called Avon an area i live in in England, the famed place of eternal rest for Celtic heroes such as King Arthur. which i have discovered avon/Avlaon to mean "The apple land" or "apple island". In Scandanavian folklore the north European gods and goddesses were fed an apple a day every evening by Iduna the Goddess of spring and youth who nurtures an apple orchard in Asgard.....more to follow..i am trying to track down the origins further back to this, all i am seeing right this moment in time is apples...on signs, cars advertising even fallen apples everywhere so i am compelled to find out why.....
