For the past few months, Paul Bradford, Co-Founder of Sonoran Paranormal Investigations (http://www.sonoranparanormal.com), has been researching and developing equipment for the purpose of making the paranormal investigation process easier and more effective, both from a cost and ease of use perspective. One such piece of equipment thats making its way through the paranormal community is the Infrared Flood Light, built to illuminate and flood an entire room with Infrared Light, the Infrared Floodlight has a beam of 23ft and an approximate diameter of 24ft. When pointed toward the ceiling it can illuminate an average size living room. Proving to be a popular piece of equipment these have been selling to teams all over the USA with positive responses and results. The Infrared Flood Light is versatile piece of equipment, powered from either battery OR mains electricity. The power and versatility makes the Infrared Flood Light is an essential tool for any Paranormal Investigator.
This Infrared IR Floodlight was first used January 2008 at the Avenue Hotel, Douglas AZ providing much needed illumination to hallways and larger areas to enhance the capability of the Sony HandyCam Nightshot feature. The human eye is not able to see Infrared light. Sony offers a product line of video cameras which can see infrared light and uses that to illuminate an area on video. Used alone, the Sony HandyCam Nightshot feature will illuminate an area up to 7 feet but by adding the Infrared IR Floodlight you can now film 30 feet! The Infrared Floodlight has also been tested and shown proven results with Sonys digital still camera. Paranormal Investigations typically occur in a dark setting and the use of Infrared enabled Video and Photographic equipment is standard. Paranormal Investigators know, however, that what comes as the basic ability of this equipment is just not enough. Teams invest hundreds of dollars into purchasing additional IR light sources. Frequently these light sources are expensive add-on peripheral equipment for video cameras. This peripheral equipment tends to drain battery life from the video camera as well as make it impossible to add other equipment, like external microphones. The Infrared Floodlight, at a fraction of the cost of peripherals sold by camera manufacturers, adds the light you need with powering versatility, and allows you the freedom of adding additional peripherals to your video camera (such as microphones). The cost savings continues when you are investigating a location without electric power. Rather than cutting the life of your $90.00 video camera battery in half by using inadequate additional illumination peripherals, you can power the Infrared IR Floodlight with lower cost, disposable or rechargeable batteries.
Going by the name of Creepy Hollow, the Infrared IR floodlights are just part of selection equipment tested, designed and/or built by Paul Bradford. You can view his equipment here: www.myspace.com/creepy_hollow2008
